For today's bump I will mention that it has no airbag, 3 spoke steering wheel, and anitlock brakes removed.

                  ***Update and Price Drop ***
Mechanic took a spiked bat to my manly bits and confirmed there is oil in the cooling system, but no coolant in oil.
It is either a Head Gasket, or cracked head (cracked head being far less likely)
Car still capable of daily driving, but price dropped in light of the news.

From $4500 down to $3000 - less cost of the work.
                  OBO.

You need not swap the engine. You could still have a great runner with the existing internals after a rebuild.

The car is also a perfect swap candidate.
No extra work needed on the chassis (except bushings - see description above).

Damn that's a bummer for spending that much $ on a rebuild.

Yeah, that's what sucks - So much money was spent on it, and it's in great shape except for one, serious yet isolated fault.

Surprisingly, I'm still getting PM's about it, so that's a positive in an otherwise bad situation.

                        Deutschman,
I hear you, I owned 2 2002's in 2008 before I got this e30. First was a '75 with webers, bbs, the lot. Second was an absurd orange with black racing stripes '74, tucked and painted bumpers, with an 85 e30 Fuel Injected m10 in it. It ran almost as smooth as this e30.
The guy that owns it now lives in SF and is active on bmw2002faq, you might've seen it around.

I actually saw 2 2002's on my last few trips into the city. Perhaps one was you. I did see one with fog lights, but I couldn't say it was the same as the one pictured, can't recall.

                        Thanks for the comments.

How much would that mechanic charge to fix the oil leak or whatever? I live in Austin TX so I would want to be driving it back. Why are anti-lock brakes removed? Are they disabled or removed?

ABS was just disabled. Brain was removed, but the pump and stuff is there... I will double check, someone else asked me that too.

I think it had to do with better brake feel as far as the PO was concerned? It's got steel braided lines, that may have something to do with it - but I am clueless.

Well, if it's a head issue, you're looking at $1500, or so, which is why I dropped the price $1500.

I bet you could drive it back to TX as it is, but I can't guarantee it.
