Oh really? Jackass like you make me sick.... You throw out an offer and you don't even have the cash. It's not to much to ask to be straight up with someone and say, hey! i'm tight on cash or i can have it in this amount of time. But no, give them an offer and start lowballing them on their car with funds you dont even have on you. Thats just wrong. I like how "Norwegiandane" put it.

It is very possible that I explained my entire financial situation to him, and it is very possible that he responded positively. It's possible.

It's possible that I explained to him A), how much I've been seeing these cars for on average, B) Based on that, how much I'd be willing to offer, and C) that I currently don't have the financials to make the purchase, but if my offer is good, to keep me posted on the sale of the car. And if it doesn't sell by the time I have the money, I would be interested in speaking.

And it's also possible that he responded very friendily with a counter offer, and said he would keep me posted

I see you are a moderator and I respect you for that, but don't jump down my throat, call me a jackass, and tell me I make you sick, when you don't know that half of what went down.

Well, I sell cars for a living, and he is right you are a jackass.


Some of the worst big game talkers dont have the cash to buy a lug nut. I cant tell you how many times I have had to listen to some dope say best cash cash cash price, only to ask what the intrest rate for a loan is.

You are the one who should go back to the porn sites untill you have the MONEY to buy what you are making offers for.

I'm just going off of what you posted, and that is the info that i got out of post#4. And since you are new here, i'm going to warn you that you must have thick skin. Cause we tend to tell it like we see it. That being said, watch what you say cause people will confront you about the topic and tell you how they feel about the matter at hand and give you their opinion about it if you want to hear it or not. Although it isn't put up with in the F/S forum. Well that is, if it is the OP's product for sale that is getting bashed. Then action is taken.

With that being said, welcome to the site. You will get honest upfront answers and no beating around the bush replies here. Its a good place to be :)

LOL I love those people. Or when they offer you and you accept, they all somehow disappear. I had a guy about a week ago come in for a car that he saw in the paper. He offered $10K cash, I said I can do $10.2K.... he then filled out an application for a loan and now waiting for an approval. Cash talks, bullshit walks.

Ok, let's get one thing straight. I appreciate the honesty, and yes I have thick skin. It's even thicker in certain places because of all the internet porn I view. But, like everyone else on this site, I'm here because of my love for the e30, and I hope to gain advice and knowledge from this forum. I hope to use this forum to help make my decisions in purchasing an e30, and once that's done, I hope to continue to use this forum to help maintain my e30. Yes, I have thick skin, and I will roll with the best of them. But come on guys, grow up a little and quit yelling at me like it's a schoolyard.

And thank you, JasonC for welcoming me to the site.

Now that that's out of the way, allow me to explain what acutally happened with this particular ix.

I wrote the seller and told him his car is excactly what I'm looking for, to the tee. I explained that his asking price of $5900 was too high for me. And I've seen other ix's for around $3-4k. I put an offer on the table of $4k.
At this point, I laid ALL THE FACTS out on the table. I told him I did NOT have that $4k at this time, but if he accepts my offer, I will work towards getting the money together. And that in the meantime, if he finds another buyer, to sell it to them and not to wait for me.

He then replied with a counter offer of $5000, take it or leave it. At which point I said, OK, same situation. I will work towards $5000. And let's keep each other posted. If I find something else for less in the meantime, I'll let him know, and if he finds another buyer, he'll let me know. We parted on friendly terms.

I don't see anything wrong with my transaction. I did not offer any false promises, I did not make any appointments, and I did not tell him I would pay him off over time.

That is all. Now if you'll excuse me, porn awaits.
