i CAN make it the DD that everyone seems to want but that will encourage me to raise the price up as i would be installing all the seats, and essentially restoring this vehicle. i thought people would appreciate me offering this car as is at a flexible price ESPECIALLY THE PPEOPLE IN THIS AREA as we all know there are multiple junkyards where parts are dirt-cheap.

if noone buys this car before next weekend (saturday, 7/17/10) i will go to the junkyard and fix this car. but dont expect to "offer me 500" when that happens.

Dude, read your first post. Of course people are going to be expecting a good DD. You mention it's all highway miles, body is in "great shape" aside from one dent, you mention a completely redone interior, and then say it looks like it's been garaged its entire life.

Then you post problem after problem later in the thread and then post pictures of that! Get a grip dude.

hey i have a black 1990 325i 5 speed. 222k highway miles. i am the third owner, it has been in one family its whole life. the father bought it from a dealer and gave it to his son as an engagement gift. i bought it about two months ago so i dont even know if i count as an owner.

it was sitting under their carport for about a year and wouldnt start. i went to their house, got it running (dead battery) and drove it home. the son lived in deleware but worked in philadephia so the vast majority were put on in the daily commute from new castle, de to philadelphia, pa (60 miles per day). anyway the body is great, ZERO rust, original paint and it looks like it was in a garage a large portion of its life.

needless to say this car is bone stock as it has been a family car its whole life. i was going to use it for my s52 swap but i found something else i couldnt pass up. anyway the body is great aside from a dent on the passenger fender(which i can replace if the buyer desires).

i have purchased freshly reupholstered black leather sport seats with red stitching and 4 mint condition door panels in an effort to make this the cleanest e30 on the east coast.

im willing to sell everything including the new seats and door panels for 2k obo

im looking for 2000 with the seats and door panels and 1500 without.

pics of the car that the original owners took are here. like i said i bought this all recently for a 24v swap so i still have parts for that too.

i will take pics of the seats when i get home.

if youi want to buy the car with everything and the engine (134k, pristine condition) and all my swap parts i could do 3k obo. like i said im motivated to sell and need money asap.

look eat a dick. if u arent gonna try to buy it then stfu. the original post was referencing the car as a whole not every mechanical detail. i didnt say i bought this as a dd i said i bought it as a swap car. if its been owned by a family its whole life what type of condition do you expect? i specifically said everything is STOCK meaning nothing has been changed out. so no its not going to have new brakes, no its not going ot have fresh shocks, thats the type of thing the average modder would change out anyway when they get their hands on it.

step back and read what you posted (that I quoted above) and pretend that you are a person searching for an E30 to buy.

would YOU want to buy a car from a guy, buy anything from a guy, or even DEAL with someone who's blown up like that? to be honest man, it doesn't sound like a bad car, and i'm looking for something along the lines of what you have, but nobody wants do deal with that kind of drama when your trying to buy a car. thats probably why nobody's replied and you haven't had any interest since then.

anyway, thats my .02cents man, no offence. good luck with the sale, put it up on craigslist, or even e-bay if it don't sale here.

here are things that need to be replaced immediately:
1. transmission: it grinds into 3rd and 4th.
2. shocks: blown so badly the car will scrape going over a speed bump at 10mph. it wobbles more than a canoe in a hurricane.
3. all belts: one squeaks. all look in terrible shape.
4. iirc, the clutch too. incredibly stiff.
5. most likely the brakes need to bled along with the clutch.

and that has to be done ASAP. so budget at least $700 in addition to what you pay.

i offered him $500. he turned me down. i bought another e30. and the exterior/interior is full of trash and far from the cleanest e30 on the east coast. not even cleanest e30 in maryland. not even the cleanest e30 in pg county. not even the cleanest e30 in hyattsville. its just the cleanest e30 he owns.

I was reading his description and thinking I would send the link to my brother to snap up since he's on the east coast. Then I saw the pics and said out loud to myself "that's going to be the cleanest car on the east coast?" Then I laughed heartily. My favorite parts are the engine bay, the "glovebox" and the undertray lying on the ground in the pics.

I think you were on the right track at $500. He's a nice guy, but the car needs at least 1k in work - rust in the battery box, interior, sunroof/headliner. Everything on the car has some type of issue -the hood doesn't open without a screwdriver, the driver's door wouldn't unlock (when I looked at it). Still, would be a decent beater project.
