    1986 325es - Delphin w/Cardinal $2,250 obo

So it has come time to sell one of my E30s. My wife and I are moving to DC, and can only justify keeping on car... and the IX took me too damn long to find to just sell it now. So....

1986 325es - 187k, auto, Delphin Grey with Cardinal interior and sport seats. Aggressively maintained by enthusiast owner for last 12 years/130k miles; stack of receipts. Two owner car. Daily driver with full confidence; just drove to DC and back 10/30. The car isn't perfect by any stretch, but I get comments all the time on it.

3.73lsd, Lowered with Bilstein shocks and HR springs, K&N panel filter, SuperSprint exhaust. Kenwood X817 head unit, in-dash cd, Sirius, 800w Kicker amp, 6.5” Kicker separates (not in pics) in custom door pods, 0ga wiring, Dynamat used extensively throughout car and trunk (so you hear the subwoofer not the car rattling!). Comes with a set of all season and a set of winter tires mounted on bottlecaps

Work in the last 2 years – (that I can think of)

    Starter replaced
Transmission, Rear Dif, brake fluids all changed
Auto Transmission lines and filter replaced
PS fluid and in-reservoir filter replaced
    Control arms and bushings replaced
Strut housings and front bearings replaced
    Front brakes
Timing Belt, Water Pump, belts, hoses replaced
    BavAuto spark plug wires
Front and Rear upper strut mounts replaced
6 Flexible brake lines replaced with SS brake lines
    All brake hard lines replaced
    Upgraded H4/H1 headlights
Numerous sensors – washer fluid level, oil pressure, both temperature sensors,
    Intake manifold to engine gaskets
    Valve cover gasket
    Heater blower and resistor

Replaced, but beyond the last two years –

    Nitto 460 tires on bottlecaps
    Snow tires on bottlecaps
    Rear Subframe bushings - urethane
    Gas tank replaced
    Both fuel pumps replaced
    Swaybar links and bushings
    Tierods
    Fan clutch
    02 Sensor
    Rear differential bushing

    The bad –

All 24 year old cars will have their issues, so the car is being offered as-is, the list below is simply what strikes me when I think of some possible negatives. It is not meant to represent a fully comprehensive listing.

    Oil pan gasket leak
Coolant light on overhead and coolant temp gauge not working
    One crack in dash
    No A/C
    Interior and paint wear
    Antenna not working
    Fog lights not working

Rust is an issue on any older New England car, but you will be surprised how little rust there is on this car. I have aggressively treated any rust that I saw, before it grew into more than just minor issues. I've used high quality anti-rust products from Eastwood and have done my best to keep known rust areas sprayed with a good coating of underbody coating, so not to expose them to the elements.

(I should note, the car is not as clean as I would like when offering for sale, but it was rainy yesterday so I just ran it through a car wash and drove it into a garage to take some pics... if I get a sunny weekend, I'll try to get better pics)

Thanks guys... I tried to price it at a point that it would get interest, though I thought I could have got closer to $3k if I wanted to wait it out.

If you think this is clean, you should see it when I reeeeally clean it! I always looked at it that since I did most of the work myself, I am only guaranteeing myself dirty hands my not keeping it clean. Since we've been getting ready to move, the last two months haven't allowed me the time to really dig in.

It isn't perfect, it has plenty of minor dings and such... but for 24, it looks pretty good.

Wow very clean! As has been said, if only it wasn't an auto.

'cmon that shouldn't hold people back! The auto-to-manual transplant is a well-worn path in the E30 world. For under $3k you could have this car in your driveway as an manual.

Thanks for the complements... I have taken very good care of the car over the years.

I don't have kids. When I see friends and family who haven't seen me in a while, they ask about my car. It genuinely hurts to sell it. I have done 95% of the work myself, so there are many hours of time spent with the car.

Thanks for the IX offer... but it is a totally rust free IX, SC car. It is going to be mine for a very long, long time... if I could only get it buttoned down and drive like the es!

When you moving to DC? I am local to DC. My buddy, who also is, is in need of an auto car, cash on hand. Bring it down. Do the sale.

                              Too easy...

Unfortunately, I have to get two cars down to DC, so I only can drive one at a time. Needs to go before I go... but if he wants to hop a $150 flight up to Boston and drive it back, he can... that's how I got my IX. Instant road trip!

I will clean it and get photos in daylight tomorrow.
