I'm going to side with the East Coast on this one. It's VERY unfair to deny somebody the ability to purchase the car because they can't be at the house in 1/2 hour. This guy had a deposit ready to send and somebody to bring money the next day. Sounds like a sure thing to me? And shit, if he didn't come through the seller would have the deposit for free!Comment

Mike seriously? I have complied to any of your request regarding the car, answered all your questions, I even let you speak to another fellow r3v member that have seen the car before my CL ad got linked here. Just for the record, I never hassled you all day about anything. I texted you properly to give me call when you get a chance. Im aware that youre very interested on buying the car but we've never agreed on anything nor me making an actual done deal. Yeah you could have given me a deposit through paypal and have someone pick up the car with the rest of the amount but like what I told you over the phone, the car is up for sale online and people local are constantly calling and texting me about it. So i just did what anyone selling anything would do is entertain potential buyers. Its unneccesary for you to say that im making things up. Last time we spoke on the phone I clearly told you that someone is on thier way to see the car. It is not my intention to ask for more than what im selling the car for. This other guy who showed up an hour later than after we spoke just simply wanted the car and was willing to give me more. Thats why while the guy is still at my house I was texting you to let you know exactly whats going on. So i did what I think is right like you said on one of our texts. I do apologize for not going through with whatever we were discussing over the phone. Like what I told you on our texts, I decided to sell the car locally simply because Im more comfortable with it. I did asked you if you was willing to pay 4000, so? If you werent ok with it then no need to get all dissappointed and start ranting on here. You seemed like a nice guy. Again i apologize for not selling you the car. Its my car, its my decision to sell it to anyone that wants to buy it. Anyways, thanks for your interest.
Anyway, not to say all people on the west coast are flakes, but all people on the west coast are self serving, selfish flakes with no honor. :D
Have a nice day!Comment

1. He was selling on Craigslist. When you sell shit on C list locals almost always get to buy first. That's why C list is organized into regional sections unlike Ebay.
2. This is America. Last I checked this is a capitalist society. If you post a price and some one offers you more, you take more.
Some of you guys are just super butt sore about missing out on a good deal because you were to fare away to really get in on it. Now your taking it out on the seller who really did nothing wrong.
If you were selling a car and two people offered to buy it, and one off them offered you more money, which person would you sell it to? That's what I thought. More money.
Life is not fair. Get over it.sigpic

Bird in hand is better than two in the bush.
I've been screwed out of quite a few deals myself and the bottom line is, if it wasn't meant to be, it wasn't meant to be.

The last time I sold a car with multiple interested parties, the local, cash buyer showed up and started laying rows of C-notes on my dining table. My 13-year old son said, "Money talks and bullshit walks."
Personally, by the time I put a car up for sale, I just want the thing gone, and I want cash. This favors local buyers, but I've also sold several to fly-in guys with folding money in their pockets.Comment
