debating selling so make an offer
Ok Well i bought the car last summer and have been slowly restoring it while it being my daily driver. Its a blast to drive and nothing out there is anything like it when it comes to snow. The reason im selling the car is because i have two cars a 944 Porsche and the e30Ix and i want to get rid of one. I was going to sell the Porsche and buy a s50 swap but I've decide to now I'm leaning toward selling the IX and saving some money through out the summer and buying something a little cleaner.
About the car
By no means is the car in perfect condition and its being sold as is. It runs and drives and I've been driving it for 6 months. When i got the car it was pretty well rusted up . I've done a lot of body patches and all that fun stuff
so pretty much all the rust is taken care of beside the sunroof which was the next thing i was going to take care of, It does not leak but its rusting from the inside.
The good
-comes with second motor(150k 89 IX)
-AWD works perfect
-comes with 2nd set of aftermarket 15's but tires aren't the best
Tires on the the stock rims and great shape winter tires
-New fenders
-new timing belt, water pump
-front and rear billy hd's,(not pictured)
-New fan clutch
-e36 green top injectors
-Head gasket and torxs bolt
-intake/exhaust Gaskets,
-newer cat back exhaust (still sounds stock) p/o had this done
JVC head unit with ipod hock-up
Theres more but i cant think of it
The bad,
-Fuel pump seems to be going (likes to missfire above 3k rpm but this will probably be fixed before the car gets sold or if i even do sell)
-Driver side top hat clucks
-When i did the fenders and truck i used Alpina white paint(OEM color) which didn't seam to match up so well but it didn't matter to me because i had plans to repaint the entire car this summer
-Sunroof is rusting but not leaking
-rear passenger floor board gets wet when driving a lot it the rain (possibly my patch is leaking or a sun roof drain)
-Like most e30's ABS doesn't work
- A/C was deleted
-needs driver fog
When i did the patches i painted the floors
just some of the parts i've done
This is after a good cleaner when i was doing the head gasket
2nd motor
I over paid for the car for the condition i bought it in, I've spent probably close to a grand and parts ,now not including the spare motor, and the car is in way better shape then what i got it. She just need a little move love to finish her up like i had been planning.

U.S. delivered iX's were 2-dr 5spds. Automatic trans wasn't available on U.S. cars until 1989. More goodies on '88s- maplight rearview mirror,Recaro sport seats and iS front and rear spoilers. All the goodies became optional in '89. When the '88's were launched they didn't sell as well as expected due to all the goodies driving base price to almost $35K and no autos.
