    1988 325is mtech and plastic bumpers 5 speed 1900obo

    Hey guys,
Im new to this forum but have been on bfc for a very long time. (same sn)

I bought this 1988 325is at the beg. on the summer and long story short. My friend gave it back to me with a blown headgasket/cracked head due to the drive belt ripping apart. Also the exhaust is hanging and i believe the entire thing needs to be replaced.

he however fixed the windows, put brand new brakes all around and also bought those black rims with new tires. It just needs hubcentric rims since the rims were off a mini.

The car has 168k or something and has never been in an accident as far as i know. It is also lowered on IE stage 3 springs and i believe blistein shocks. It has minumal rust right under the door and a small little spec on one of the quarter panel i believe. I rewired the entire audio system and when i pulled the carpet back i didnt find any rust at all and boy was i happy. I also have a lip but it needs to be remounted.

The interior is in good condition just missing hte glovebox and drivers knee bolster. Bought some off a 91 318is but they wont fit properly for some reason.

My friends have been pulling misc hoses off the engine to fix thier car since i was going to do a m5x swap. If i get my asking price i will throw in a m50 non vanos that i believe has a bad crank sensor since it sit thier cranking but doesnt start. I dont have a ecu or maf but i can throw in the harness.

oh and it has smilies and euro trim along with the mtech steering wheel and i believe mtech lip.

thank you for pointing it out Khalid. But no its not a real mtech or anything special like that but it has those few parts. sorry for not being more clear. I just got into the e30 game but want out now since i want to just build my m52 for my e36 boost setup. If this car is still around by the time i get the m52 into the e36 then ill just pop the m50 into this and make it my daily.

                    Visit to Chicago

I went to take a look at the car today. Body is Very solid and rust is as described. I think there are a few details that I would like to make sure are disclosed about this car.

The interior is in OUTSTANDING condition. The knee bolster and glove box are not mounted as he has described.

The brakes are in very new condition other than them being rusted a bit from sitting.

The bumpers.. They are not originally white bumpers, they are red and have been painted white. Red is starting to show through on them in places. Since they are not original to the car, there are unusual gaps front and rear between body and bumper.

Smilies are Bosch, Not Hella for those that care, and the drivers side is not mounted properly.

The motor that comes with it is for the most part a head and short block. No manifold. Wiring harness is not attached. No water pump attached, No oil filter housing attached. No Alt, PS, AC attached.

The trunk.. There is a beachball sized hole in the spare tire well that has been patched with what appears to be the bottom part of a metal trash can. I do believe him when he said it was like that when he got it. I just feel like that is something someone should know that before traveling any distance to view it.

That being said, please do not see this post as a bashing.. I honestly just want to make sure that no one else spends $150 in gas with truck and trailer to view it and THEN find out these little bits of information. Guy seemed to be honest. Isn't asking too much for how clean the car is. I just had bad feelings towards the car once I saw it in person.
