It seems like a very clean car. But at $12k, you would need to post most/all the information possible, detailed pictures (not just one), and drop the price. Yes it has really low miles, but we all know these cars from top to bottom. And we're all too broke/smart to pay $12k for a 22 year old car when we can find something somewhat like yours for considerably less. There's a buyer for every car, but with this price, it won't be here.
Sorry if that sounds harsh, but it's the truth.
And with the sarcasm of your last post, you're going to bring a shit storm to your own thread. Just sayin'.Comment

:giggle:OK bud. I thought that maybe a car without rust or dings or ragged out interior would be appealing to someone. I am sure that there is someone out there that would like to see a car that was not a piece of junk. Someone who would appreciate a well taken care of car. I guess I was wrong. I would hate to see the car driven by the person who responded. An almost perfect car for sale. What a concept. This car was our Sunday car. Our daily driver is an 86 325E. The 86 is probably in better shape than most of the crap I have seen here. Just saying. Oh yeah. We are the original owners of the 86 too.I Timothy 2:1-2Comment

Step 1. Blow your car up via whatever you prefer
Step 2. Buy 100-500 Honda dump-ass-beater
Step 3. Leave BMW and their respective forums
=
You are a disgrace to all enthusiasts thinking you can come and post any game like that here to the knowledgable.
P.s. I'm open for battle, Hyphe36 on other forums, see me
P.s.s.
I guess I'll just get to the next post that you'd inevitably ask a response for....
SURE your car is a one owner (Family... that means 2+ people in the car often, reasonably saying 4 people)
Low mileage (this is great no matter how you look at it, your best selling point by far)
Original paint (grab factory paint and a decent painter any paint issue can be solved at any part in time. Even if it is an enthusiast they are going to want their paint fixed should they have the need. What I'm saying in a nutshell is paint is paint. So long as it is uniform, factory and nice the typical bimmer fan will be more than happy. Original, as in, it is has had no work done since the intitial line, is a selling point for Mecum Auto Auctions, not your typical forum buyer. Keep in mind the paint chip sets BMW sells at dealerships to deal with exactly what I'm talking about, which would void any sellars' "original" statement intended to sell to those very very very picky and rare car buyers criteria)
Records, I'm glad you have them. Great. Here is a trophy for being organized :trophy:
BMW maintained. Thanks for not getting it serviced at a Kia or a Scion shop.
Really man, if you you think you have enough gab to sell that car for 12-15k off what you put in your post I suggest you obtain your GED and try again.
And on a final note, as mentioned previously by other members in different words... calling other posting members posts' shit is not a good way to grab smiles from prospectives... but since you obviously can't compose yourself in what you think is a 12-15 thousand dollar post I really don't expect you to understand any of what I said.

Since you will likely just get torn up by others, I will give you a few constructive suggestions in spite of you insulting this entire forum unprovoked.OK bud. I thought that maybe a car without rust or dings or ragged out interior would be appealing to someone. I am sure that there is someone out there that would like to see a car that was not a piece of junk. Someone who would appreciate a well taken care of car. I guess I was wrong. 1. When you are trying to sell something, lose the attitude. MIKe30 was being constructive and you went off on a tirade because you were butthurt. Nobody likes to buy from a condescending asshole. I have bolded all of the unnecessary bullshit in your post--you may note it is all but the first two letters. Next time, leave it out.
2. You are asking a collector price for your car. This is not a forum for car collectors. Here we are mostly relatively modest income and, as you so eloquently noted, own mostly average condition cars. Mike pointed you in the direction of places that will be a better way to reach the demographic for this car.
3. See #1.

There are a few members of this forum that truly have big bankrolls when it comes to e30s (or bmws for that matter) the rest are all average guys, many of them on the younger side, who just enjoy the e30 because it is a simple car to work on and if put together right is a real joy to drive.
To that point, most of the seasoned members of r3v have a great amount of knowledge about the e30 because by this point they have fixed everything that was originally broken on their car, as well as any friends e30s, etc; so many know what to look for when buying a car.
This means, you'll need to supply a few things in your for sale thread to explain what it is you're really selling. They are:
-Mileage (check)
-Service Records-This one becomes really important because of the mileage. You've driven the car less than 1.8k miles a year, roughly 150 miles a month for 22 years (I drive more than that in any given two day period). People will automatically be concerned with the condition of rubber parts on the car as well as the timing belt and water pump history, as these items will deteriorate with lack of use or prolonged (in years) use.
You did not provide a service history (even the most recent stuff). Doesn't matter how original the car is, if the maintenance is not up to par, the buyer will have to dump money into repairs (making the people here question your asking price).
-Detailed pictures-Again, if the car is truly pristine, you need to supply pictures of everything--all exterior panels, engine, undercarriage, interior, top, wheels, etc. Pictures truly grab the interest of potential buyers because they can see the attention to detail (or lack thereof) that a one owner car has been given. This is where you truly put the word out that a nice car is for sale.
-History-Where has this car lived. Has it been in Arkansas its whole life, or has it traveled around as you've moved around. This is important as certain areas of the country are more prone to rust problems due to salt (as you mentioned, southern cali cars sell for more because everyone knows there won't be undercarriage problems).
-Price-(check)-Obviously, you've asked for a fairly high asking price compared to the rest of the e30s that are sold here (or most anywhere else outside of s14.net). The thing to remember is that the price you've set is based on variables that you have thought about and a number that you have come up with. People will obviously question it (regardless of whether its $12k or $3k), as everyone is looking for a deal. The key here is to answer questions about price honestly with as much detailed justification as possible. This will show people that you are knowledgeable and that your car is truly worth the price.
I hope that helps explain why most responses in this thread are negative. You did hurt yourself a little by going after Mike30, someone that has built several really nice cars over the course of a number of years here. He's probably spent triple your asking price in just the restoration of his last e30, so he does know his stuff.
