SOLD
Well I think it is time to sell one of my cars I wasn't ever going to sell. I probably don't need to lay out the story because its the same that you always hear: job, GF, rent, time, etc etc, its just not working out. I don't know exact details of everything but I need to get the thread up and going. This car has been in heated storage and driven and started occasionally as needed to keep it fresh, no real miles have been put on in almost 2 years. You'll have to listen to my story a little, sorry. Cars has been my sickness for many years now.
One restoration under its belt and it was done so-so. I parked it to restore it back to perfect since it was such a low mile example. There is some rust coming back and I don't think they took off the body cladding the last restore. It has had the head off and rebuilt. I have a couple of the receipts from the PO but not the machine shop ones. I have whats left of the gasket kit along with the old cam and some parts. Runs great and everything works. I drove it one winter and this is by far the most amazing car in the snow. I have had a 4x4 chevy truck, a BMW X5, a WRX, and many other cars in the snow and this one blows them all away. You could go 70 in a foot of snow and feel like you were on tracks. I want it to go to a loving owner and ill get another iX somewhere down the road.
This is what I have off the top of my head. The car can be driven off just fine. I would immediately change ALL the fluids as the car has been sitting. It would be such a waste to not spend that little money to change all fluids since all parts are good.
88' 325iX coupe with 5 speed manual, shifts great but shifter is getting sloppy (as they all do)
Full set of plastic short bumpers and all parts and bolts for conversion (88' is the year of being able to do plug and play swap with short plastic bumpers) They are beige. I started putting it on and the front bumper is just sitting on the car.
Has a Bosal exhaust on it now that has a hole in muffler that actually makes it sound pretty sexy, but I have additional excellent condition Bosal exhaust to go with it.
Car is unmolested except someone had put CD player in it. I have removed the player and spent $100 for a correct OEM tape player, not installed.
I have lexol'ed the seats many times. They are cracked but only have a small tiny tear on driver seat.
Has incorrect spoiler and I have correct heckspoiler (in purple needs paint)
Power windows and locks work as well as sunroof.
Have quite a few spare parts as I was trying to get the car back to complete OEM stock.
Tread on tires is very good and I have receipt for tires and alignment for almost $600
NOT ONE CRACK on the DASH!!!!
I do not know condition of A/C. The better the home and your stable, the more likely I will negotiate. Cash talks. It would be a fun car to drive this winter while you start to restore. Come tell me how its going to sit next to your 2002tii or your M1 :)
The pictures is when I had it outside this summer for maybe a month, its back inside now.
