SOLD
Selling my Alpine white on Natur tan '89 M3. Beautiful car, tastefully modified, and extremely well maintained. 162k miles on the chassis, but only 12k miles on the completely rebuilt S14. Southeastern car it's entire life (South Carolina, Georgia, and North Carolina.)
Drivetrain
Original S14, fully rebuilt just 12k miles ago. Only items re-used were the block, head, and crank; everything else is new (pistons, rods, valves, hardware, etc etc.) First overbore, all new timing components. Schrick intake cam, original intake cam moved to exhaust side. Clutch, motor mounts, hoses, etc were all replaced when the motor was rebuilt. Even has a fresh coolant reservoir tank.
Car is equipped with an Evo airbox with K&N filter, as well as a Miller MAF conversion with accompanying chip. Spent gasses exhale through a VSR high-flow cat-equipped center section, to a Stromung muffler. Motor runs strong and flawlessly. Transmission is smooth and quiet, with no issues. Shifter feels positive and smooth, but could use a bushing where the console meets the transmission to be perfect. Rear differential is silent, and the LSD is very strong.
Suspension/Brakes
The car has Bilstein Sport struts/shocks and H&R Sport springs, as well as E90 front drop hats.
Front control arms and bushings are less than a year old. Rear subframe and trailing arm bushings were serviced a few years back, and are still perfect. Front strut mounts are brand new. Racing Dynamics front strut brace installed.
Brand new front brake pads and rotors, rears have a ton of life left. Goodrich stainless braided brake lines all around (DOT approved set.) Two brand new front caliper rebuild kits included with the car, as well as a set of Turner bronze caliper guides (uninstalled.)
The car tracks straight, handles very well for the relatively soft springs, and is surprisingly comfortable. Brakes are firm and effective, and the ABS is fully functional. Steering is precise and communicative, though there is one very small power steering leak near the reservoir.
The current tires are a few years old, have some cupping on the inner edges, and should be replaced. The car is sitting on a set of 16" E28 M5 wheels, which are perfectly straight, and balance true. The finish on a couple of the wheels is starting to deteriorate, but they are still very presentable. My plan was to have the wheels refinished with Nogaro centers when I replaced the tires.
Body
The body on this car is extremely straight. There is one small ding on the entire car, at the very leading edge of the front fender (pictured below.) The entire car was repainted (in the late 90's I believe), and it was a very high quality paint job. No overspray, good depth and clarity to the reflection. The car was equipped with a clear-bra for many years, keeping the paint on the commonly-damaged frontal areas nearly perfect. All VIN tags are present and matching.
There is one small spot at the base of the windshield where the paint has began to bubble (pictured below.) It is not rotted through, but should be addressed to keep from becoming a greater issue. The windshield is original, and has 160k worth of wear, so it would be a good time to take care of both.
The exterior features a genuine EVOII front lip, european tow hook covers, and a set of real Hagus mirrors (power-operated, with the blue convex glass.) All original shadowline trim intact, though the passenger rear window trim has a section that is fading.
The front bumper cover does have some cracking paint across the top, and will need to be smoothed and repainted to be perfect. The rear bumper shows some small stress cracks in the paint as well, near the corners where it meets the quarter panels. The bumper stripe on the car now is just normal tape, but I have the correct sized 3M black bumper tape to go with the car. Perfect condition Hella euro "smiley" ellipsoids round out the additions to the body.
Interior
Though not bad by any means, I feel the interior is the only weak point on the car. The original carpet has a worn spot on the side of the dead pedal; easily covered by a couple different types of dead-pedal, and otherwise undamaged. The original front door panels are in pretty good shape, but each have their small flaws. Rear door cards are perfect, as is the rear parcel shelf. Dashboard is clean and crack free. Rear seat is still a little dirty, as I had intentions of re-dying it with a Leatherique kit. A couple seams are split on the top, but just on one side. Front seat covers were replaced with a set from an E28 M5. Very soft and pliable, and have no damage, but still could use a good leather treatment to keep them looking clean. Headliner has no stains/damage, but is starting to get a little loose behind the sunroof.
Overall, the interior is still comfortable and very presentable. I've been told that I'm "nit-picky", but.. well, I am. My intentions were to convert the interior to a black/houndstooth combo. As such, I do have a good grey carpet set to go with the car, and a few good black trim panels as well. The carpet I'm including is from an early 318i, so it looks and feels plush like a 325/M3 carpet, but is very lightweight, like the carpet from a 318is. Best of both worlds!
MISC
Power windows, mirrors, and sunroof work perfectly. Fully functional cruise control, great heat, and cold a/c (one line was replaced, and a fresh recharge of R134a applied.) Map-light mirror works, and both lenses are intact. The car has a BMW CD-43 headunit wired in, and the original premium speakers sound great. All OBC functions work perfectly. Trunk is clean, has a full tool-kit, and even a euro storage tray on top of the battery cover. The windows are tinted, though the tint is several years old. I've left it as it has done a great job of preserving the interior, but ideally it should be re-done. Door switches for the dome lights should be replaced, but the dome lights still function perfectly from their switches.
Car has had Mobil 1 15-50 synthetic since the rebuild. Trans and diff fluids were replaced with Redline fluid. ATE Super Blue used for the brakes.

Up close fender ding/bumper paint;

From roughly 24 inches back;

Spot at base of windshield;

The one spot of fading trim;

Grainy shot, but a feel for the depth of the reflection in the paint;

Overall, this is a beautiful, well-sorted car that really needs nothing except a fresh set of tires, and a butt to fill the driver's seat. So why am I selling it? Partially because I'll be moving across-country in a few months, and I'm hesitant to take this car to a harsher climate. The other reason is simply because I don't drive the car as much as I'd like to. It's a bit too nice to be a daily driver, and I live in a city that lacks any fun roads. The car sits in the garage if there's a chance of rain, or if it rained the night before. It's just hard for me to enjoy, so I'll be replacing it with another E30 318is like I had previously, and maybe gracing it with a Metric Mechanic motor. The "poor-mans M3" is one I don't mind driving in the rain!
$20,600 or best reasonable offer. Will consider a partial trade for a white or silver E30 318is.
Car is located in Charlotte, North Carolina. Clean title in hand.
Can provide a PDF copy of the AutoCheck report to those interested.
I will post more detailed pictures within the next day or so.
