Feeler: Zinno '88 325is coupe, Daily driven and strong running

    R3v,
I am reconsidering my hopes and dreams of boosting due to some money constraints in the near future. As some of you know, I daily 50+ miles a day during the school year, and also am applying to future jobs a bit further then id like to drive (reguardless, my town does not have any positions available at local shops and I need a new job badly). So my current basis of dropping k's of money into a boosted e30 that will reduce my mileage and also possibly add points to my license seems to be unreasonable.

Anyways, I am going to be sad to see it go. I think my friends love the car as much as I do (my friends FB profile picture is my car rather then his own haha). I would kind of prefer a trade at the moment since I do not have a spare car, but cash will also do.

Id consider trades for (must be daily/manual)
    e30 318s
    e30 etas
    e21 possibly?
    mk1 vws
    mk2 vws

Enough of my sob story, this is how I baught it, just for more information on the car.

I had put a lot of time into maintenance, of which is listed below.

    5k ago Ive replaced
-Gas tank with a newer rust free one
    -Distributer rotor
    -Waterpump
    -Timing belt
    -Tensioner
    -Alt belt
-Thermostat w/ gasket (fixed the overheating at idle issue)
    -Oil changes
    -Coolant flush
-Painted valve cover (not the best, needs to sand more of the bmw upraised area, but looks better then before).
    -Valve cover gasket
    -Adjusted the valves into spec
    -Alignment

    Within the 1k Ive
-Replaced all new shift linkage (bav auto kit for 110$)
-z4 shifter shifts great (80$ new)
    -OBC light bar
    -Brand new fuel filter
    -Fixed the speedo
    -Newer alternator tensioner bracket
    -Fixed evap leak
    -New vacuum hose
    -Bumper tuck up front
    -fuel filter
    -fuel pressure regulator

    Old HDR photos (not washed)

    This ones my fav.

And more or less a joke photo. Im 6'4'' and with the sport seats all the way down I look short!

Newest photos (still not washed, could shine well with wax)

    Rust/imperfections
Left in primer, just needs a skim of bondo and some paint. The weatherstripping area is all rusted, and I ground down that part for the ground on the mig welder. If you look a couple pictures down, the front valence and is lip are painted with rustoleum regal red, which would be perfect to cover up an ugly bondo color and w/ the euro tub it would be hardly noticeable.

I welded a piece of 16gauge steel to hold the battery so its safe. But this is the worst, and I have a complete donor piece in red for this corner, with the battery tray included.

I have a complete red sunroof cover with one tiny spot of rust to include too.

I dont want my time wasted and dont want to waste your time, so I am going to be upfront about the rust/car. All of the rust is repairable at Klub Vintage, Ive spoke to Adam there and nothing is unmanageable w/ that guy :D.

The car does clean up decently though. I still get a lot of compliments, and looks good. It drives pretty well, hasnt left me stranded. It has a little bit of a fuel pump whine thats been around for a couple months, but no real starting issues. Im not sure if the e30s pumps whine, its my first bmw I've owned.

There is no powersteering, p/o never had belt. That means no ac, so all components are there just not routed on a belt. I never minded it. Heat works when it wants to, Its got all new coolant but no overheating issues, I never cared enough to diagnose it since the winter was really warm. IAC could use a recleaning/replacement, depending on how picky you are. When its warm out, it idles at 750, but when its a little cooler sometimes around 600 or so. Still drives fine and no issues, just being upfront.

I am looking for 4k obo, its a perfect daily. With a little welding skills you can easily fix the rust issues, as you could see I started to but I am looking for a different daily. Or just drive it as is, and have fun! Its been the most reliable/fun car I've owned, and saddened that it comes down to money that I have to sell this thing.

Please pm me, and if serious we will talk. Kept getting random hour phone calls. Any questions, feel free to ask. Thanks!

    Price?
    A price is required.
Even if it's a feeler, then interest would depend on the price.

Oh didnt realize feelers required a price. Something in the 4k range. Reguardless it isnt the cleanest e30 but you honestly wont have to wrench on this thing for another 45k miles (timing belt deal) and already has its perks for some fun driving

Looks like a pretty fair price to be asking for the condition. GLWS!

Mechanically its very good, just that idle issue and the o2 sensor (i have the sensor and might drop the exhaust to get it in this week).

Exterior like I said isn't the best, but its a 24 year old car. Some rust repair with the donor pieces id include, and a plastic bumper swap and shed be good

O2 sensor was super old! had to torch it to get it out. New bosch one is in and obc is reading a good 25 to 27 mpg highway.

To the top looking to see whats out there

back to the top. I am trying to plan out boost, but It might be out of my reach price wise. I am almost graduated school, and need something that wouldnt be peeling my wallet of its cash, so this is back up as a feeler.

4k seems a little high for a early model with that much rust damage and it's current condition.

Its my starting price, its still for sale but working on the fuel pump, which has fixed the idle. Its ready to go and with some craftsmanship, it can be rust free.

Its still for sale though just got a sedan.
