    FS: 1989 325is m50 Swap, Lachssilber

    Background:

I bought the car in July of 2001 with 181k miles, and it has been garaged for 98% of the time I've owned it. The chassis has 229,xxx miles, it has an m50 swap from a 93 525i, with unknown miles. It has started every time since the day I installed it. I have put on about 1,000 miles in the last year or so.

For those who don't know, it was turbocharged from about 2003-2008, with an m20 stroker (hence the 328i badge in the rear), and it blew up in catastrophic fashion on the way home from an e30 picnic in 2008. I didn't feel like building/rebuilding and it took 3 years to get back into it.

    Condition:

All fluids are kept up and has redline diff oil. The battery is new as of March. The paint is in very good condition. There are a few dents on the exterior,1 in the front fender toward the front bumper (kind of hard to see), 2 in the rear quarter panels from something rolling around in the trunk. One in the hood, on the front passenger side. A couple door dings, that are hard to notice, and I’ll take pictures of spots that are hard to explain. The oil cooler is mounted but not connected, as I was waiting for Ireland Engineering to figure out their cooler adapter.

    I am asking $7500.

    Engine:

    1993 BMW 525i m50 engine with 413ECU
Getrag 260 Transmission with custom mount
    3.25 LSD rear end
    Ebay headers
Custom adapter to a full 3” exhaust, dual 3” straight-through Magnaflow mufflers
Centerforce Dual Friction Pressure Plate, with a Clutchnet 4 puck sprung disk.
    13lb flywheel machined from stock
    Walbro 255l/hr fuel pump
Electric fan on stock radiator temp switch

    Suspension/Wheels:
    H&R Cup Kit
Rear spring spacers used in back to achieve a higher stance
Kopi Alpina 17x7.5 wheels (minor curb rash)
    Ireland Engineering strut tower bar
Goodyear Eagle F1 DS-G3 235/40-17” tires (less than 5k miles on them)
19mm front and 16mm rear sway bars with urethane bushings
Urethane trailing arm, subframe and differential bushings
NEW Treehouse Eyeball control arm bushings
    NEW front control arms
    NEW tie rods
NEW powerslot rotors with HAWK Street ceramic pads
    SS Brakelines

    Exterior:
    “is” front lip
    Ryan G Splitter
    Euro rear license plate filler
    Smoked Ellipsoids
    Replica Euro grilles
    HID 5500k headlights
    Rolled fenders
    Painted valences
Comes with color matched front kidney grill and chrome
    Tinted brake lights
Cut front valence for oil cooler
Smoked turn signals and side markers

    Interior:
Custom Gauge faces with vertical pins
    Corbeau GTS Seats
    Indigo all cloth interior
    Retrofitted electric sun roof
Rockford Fosgate Head unit, reads mp3 cds
    Alpine 4 channel amp
Infinity Reference front 5.25” components and rear fill 5.25” speakers

    Discarded:
    Power Steering
    Cruise Control
    Air Conditioning

I’ll also throw in a bunch of extra e30 parts I have laying around, you’ll get a set of gunmetal bottle caps with Yokohama AVS-intermediate tires.

Better pictures to come tomorrow. I'll get the interior shots with the new seats, and some detail shots of the engine bay, and the flaws of the car.

This was one of the sexiest turbo cars ever.

Still looks great as is. If it were closer I would pick it up from you. My family is heading out to seattle for vacation though in late july.

I never understood the statement " I wish it was closer, I would get it". Just fly out and enjoy the drive back

I think it means that if they had gone through with the purchase their wives would go through with the threatened divorces.

                      BTDT on that one.

Sorry to see the sale. Better ride on horizon? Needs better photo shoot to sell, just for old times sake.

ive flown for cars about 4 or 5 times I cant remember, I got burned on 3 of them. Id rather look at a car in person.

But from following this car over the years im pretty sure its a safe bet that its solid.

When it had the old turbo M20, this was the fastest car I'd ever ridden in in my life. From 0-135mph in the blink of an eye.

Sad to see it go, but wait until you schmucks see what he replaced it with... :D
