    Description:

This X5 is in excellent condition, mechanically and cosmetically. It runs, drives, and looks like a new vehicle. There are no issues whatsoever. No leaks, no burning oil, not a single shimmy/shake/rattle/etc. I am a 12+ year BMW owner/enthusiast with 2 other BMW’s, and all of them are meticulously maintained with OEM parts and quality repairs. I have an AutoCheck vehicle history report available to anyone interested. Most of the miles on the vehicle are highway miles.

    Flaws:

As a 10 year old and 168k mile vehicle, it is in EXCELLENT condition. However, the driver’s seat does show a very small amount of cosmetic wear on the bolster. There is a small, barely noticeable scratch on the navigation screen. There were two small scratches on the rear bumper from someone bumping into me, which were covered with 2-stage touch-up paint and are barely noticeable. There were a few small rock chips in the paint on the front of the vehicle which were covered with touch up paint. Nothing unusual, given the extended highway mileage.

    Other:

When the torque converter was replaced, I had the transmission shop also drain and flush the transmission with ESSO spec fluid, and replace the filter. I spoke to the owner of the shop, who showed me the old fluid, and it looked brand new. He said that I should not expect any transmission issues anytime soon, which is usually a concern with the BMW V8 models. My transmission had no unusual debris in the pan or discoloration/smell of the fluid, so it should be good to go for a long time.

As noted, the vehicle is lowered approximately one inch with B&G Sport springs in the front. In the rear, the X5 comes from the factory with a self-leveling air suspension system. The rear is lowered to match the front by use of ‘lowering links’ which lower the air suspension. The system is still fully functional and will always adjust itself to be level when loaded/unloaded with cargo or a trailer. That said, I will gladly return the vehicle to stock prior to the sale if you wish. These are bolt-on modifications that have no effect on reliability or maintenance when removed.

The exhaust is very minimally louder then stock, you'd likely only notice if you heard it before and after. It does sound a bit better when accelerating, and the X-pipe added a few horsepower. This is a barely-noticeable modification, nothing obnoxious or annoying in any way.

I usually average about 20 MPG. If you set the cruise control at 65, you can see 21-22 MPG. Around town, I usually average 18-19 MPG.

Overall, this is the nicest e53 x5 you will find anywhere near this price. You will not find another that drives as nice, looks as nice, and has been maintained as well as this one, regardless of mileage. I’ll let the pictures due to the rest of the talking, but I’d recommend coming and seeing the vehicle in person to get a real idea of how nice it actually is.

Feel free to contact me for more information, pictures, or to set up a time to see the vehicle.
