FS My Unmolested AWII Cabrio

Let me know if the link malfunctions or if the pics arent viewable and check the link in my sig if this one isnt working

http://charlotte.craigslist.org/cto/3625500454.html.

Questions via PM will get to me faster and if you include an email address I will reply ASAP.

The link to CL is not so reliable so I am posting the contents of my ad here. There are not many documented unmolested well sorted e30s with zero paint or body work left. This is a 100% fly and drive.

Today will be a top down day..and its only January. If the weather stays this nice I may have to raise the asking price :-)

My Ad:

I am offering for sale an 89 BMW 325 iC in Alpine White II with approximately 167xxx on the working odometer. I bought this car in January with 159xxx mi on it after my long time e30 (14 years) was t boned and it has been my daily driver since. I have made 2 trips to Florida in it and this car is rock solid so I would not hesitate to take it anywhere or to send my kids across country in it (if I was to let them near it).
I pulled an Autocheck when I bought it and it scored 31 with a Charlotte history dating back to 1991 and no adverse entries. Therefore, this is an unmolested, unmodified, undamaged, rust free local car that has never been hit or had any paint work whatsoever outside of some touch up here and there as with any 23yo car. There is absolutely no rust or surface corrosion anywhere and as you will see from the list below, a lot of refreshing has been done using only Genuine BMW, OEM or better parts
Black Friday Maintenance Update: Fresh 20-50 Pennzoil & Mann Oil Filter The Throttle Body was removed, cleaned & reinstalled with a new gasket The Throttle Position Switch was cleaned, tested & adjusted The throttle heater hose flange was removed, cleaned & reinstalled with a new gasket. New valve cover gasket & rocker shaft end plugs were installed

Engine:
Timing Belt & tensioner (Conti)
Water Pump (Lazo)
All Accessory Belts (Conti)
80 degree tstat (Wahler)
All radiator hoses (Conti or Elaplast)
Crank, intermediate & cam seals plus the cam oring
NGK plugs
Fan clutch (Sachs)
Engine mounts (Meyle)
Auto Trans mounts (Febi)
Air Filter (Mann)
Radiator flushed & refilled with phosphate free antifreeze & distilled water
Ansa Muffler

Suspension & Steering:

Control Arms (Lemforder)
M3 Control Arm Bushings (Lemforder)
E36 Steering Rack (20% quicker than stock)
E36 Tie Rod Assemblies (Lemforder)
Front Sway Bar End Links (Lemforder)
Front Sway Bar Bushings & Brackets (BMW)
Rear Sway Bar End Links (Febi)
Rear Sway Bar Bushings (BMW)
remanufactured e36 steering rack installed 12/15/12

Interior:

Odometer gears replaced.
This month the seats were removed and the carpets & mats Rug Doctered. The front seats were taken apart, the tracks cleaned, repainted & relubed. Seat back mechanisms were cleaned & relubed (so the seats LOCK & stay that way), damaged bolsters were replaced from a spare Cabrio seat in the same Indigo color. The seats were then given a complete multi-coat Leatherique treatment.

The dash has a small area of delam at the left front corner.

AC has been converted to 134a and at a steady 2500rpm the vents read 37 degrees (yes thirty seven) when the outside temp was mid 80's.

Exterior:

As stated, the body has NEVER been hit. There are parking lot dings typical for a 22 yo car and there is one dimple in the middle of the hood where someone left something on the intake manifold and let the hood down. I have had the car looked at by a body shop and am advised that pretty well everything can be resolved via paintless dent repair.

The soft top is 100% leak free and reflects normal wear and tear for a quality replacement top (GAHH) that is not new. The rear window has good visibility.

The trunk strut & the 2 deck lid struts are new (Stabilus OEM).
Deck lid gasket is new (BMW)
The rear window to body seals are new (BMW) as is the drivers side front to rear glass seal)
Hood & trunk emblems are new (BMW)

Bottle caps have been swapped for a nice set with Tiger Paws that are 80% +

Needs:

Despite the above the car is not perfect.
The brake lining light does not go out. The linings are fine as are the sensors but this light is known to have a mind of its own. I will remove the bulb if asked.

The ABS light stays on. The wheel sensors tested ok as did the ABS relay so I will say the ABS does not work. This light can be removed as well.

There is a small dash crack behind the instrument cluster. I actually only just saw it when I looked at these pics so its not significant..but its there.
The antenna .... NOTE: 12/16/12 the antenna has been repaired with a new pigtail, mast and grommet (through the fender). It works perfectly

The fog lights don't come on. The switch is fine as are the lights. There's a connection somewhere I haven't found.

There is a scuff at the right front bumper filler that I may touch up. There's a pic of it.

The top of the back seat is toast just like almost every other e30 Cabrio in existence. This means the leather is hard & the seams have opened up.

This car starts always, idles steady, runs strong and with the e36 rack and new steering it handles better than new. You can set the steering wheel on a high speed sweeping bend and just hold it there. . .the car does not wander at all. There are e30 Cabrio's for less but you will easily spend the difference in the parts that are already in this car and I do not think you will find a better maintained, unmolested, documented car for less. The only non-original items are the previously mentioned e36 rack (the best value upgrade there is), the Sony head unit (with remote), the replacement top and. . .well. . .I think that's it.

The only reason I am selling this car is that I found a very low mileage red twin in a barn and I just don't need 2 Cabrio's in addition to the other 2 e30's I have.

Now for the disclaimers. This is a 22yo car and is not new. No whining. If you don't like it don't buy it. You wont hurt my feelings.

If this ad is up its still for sale. This means that if you ask me I will assume you are the Nigerian Finance Minister and will not reply.

If you do not have the funds to pay for this car, please do not email me.

Despite my best efforts to describe this car completely and accurately, there is sure to be something I missed. Please get over it now. I welcome a pre-purchase inspection at the mechanic of your choice (with a deposit) and have invoices and pics for pretty much everything described. Never the less, its Caveat Emptor

I have a bit of wiggle room but I know what these cars are worth, since I have 4 and have personally done the maintenance\upgrades\repairs on all of them. Please don't low ball me as it's a waste of your time and mine and if you choose to make an offer sight unseen I will assume you intend to buy it that way as well. As I said before, you can buy an e30 Cabrio for half this amount, spend the difference in parts and write off your labor.

Clean clear title is in hand and I welcome any questions (although I cant imagine what you could ask after reading this

Thanks for looking & email away.

I really ought to bump myself since its spring.

I just changed the transmission filter and gasket then topped it up with 4qts of Castrol Dex and threw on a nicer set of bottle caps and Tiger Paws with a good 80% tread.

Asking $4950 for a very well sorted unmolested, documented Cabrio

Caveat emptor does not apply here. You won't find a more forthright and honest seller.

Plus he's OCD about maintenance.

GLWS!

Thanks again, Frank. How come every time you bump my thread you PM me your paypal address ? :nice:

I had an annoying squeak that turned out to be a broken RSM on the PS. This car is now totally squeak and rattle free (amazing but true). With my barn find up on blocks I'm DDing it and I have to admit its the best driving of my 4 e30's.
