--SOLD-- Eastern NC: 1988 325is --SOLD--

    -- SOLD --

    1988 325IS Coupe 115,598 miles
    8261059 Last 7 of VIN
    1987/11 Build Date
    1123 Vehicle Code
    203/7 Lachhilber-Metallic Paint
    0292 Grey Leather Interior

No Rust! No Rust! No Rust!
Has always been located in Greenville, NC
1988 325IS Facelift body with metal bumpers. Automatic transmission.
All original, one owner when I purchased it, I have titled the car but never licensed it.
The car has not been driven since 2005. It will start and drive, it just won't stop. No brakes, the brake petal goes to the floor. I replaced the fuel pump and put in 5 gal. of premium gas and it started after the third try.
It has not been started since because I am worried about the timing belt breaking. New timing belt and water pump has been purchased but not installed.

    Good:
    No Rust
All original (it looks like the front fenders, hood and drivers door has been resprayed)
    One owner
    Low mileage
    Perfect headliner
Has everything you could get on a IS except heated seats and side skirts.

    Bad:
Paint is dead from the pinstripe area up.
Front drivers fender dented at headlight.
    Hood dented.
Rear passenger quarter dented near taillight.
    Dash has one crack.
    Steering rack leaks
    No brakes

Can't photo dead paint. The clear coat had turned to dust and was removed, the base is still there. It just looks dull and flat. Like the base looks when spraying a BC/CC respray, flat with no shine.

        Interior pics.

Definitely priced reasonably; exactly like my car but with metal bumpers

GLWS; hopefully it stays in the r3v family. I'd be nice seeing another Lachsilber IS cruising around

I'm sorry but can you clarify this for us. It has not been started since 2005? Or when you since you poured in the fuel.

Just asking for clarification. Nicely priced. Surprised you have resisted adding XXR and putting some no name brand coil overs and raised the price to 7K.

The last time the car was started was November, 2012. I have not changed the timing belt and I do not trust a timing belt that is at least 8 years old. It looks like the best thing to do is go ahead and change the timing belt and water pump. Hopefully that will help it sell.

Please tell me, what is "XXR"?
