In all honesty, I paid 1500 for my current apline white 87 325is. The exterior was near perfect, and the leather was cracked but not torn, no cracks in the dash. The only thing I could find wrong with the car was that the engine was about to spin a crankshaft bearing. I transplated the engine and it was just fine.

If you lowered your price to 1k, you might perk someones interest, but 1600 is still a bit much. As for the recommendation of $400...that's about what it's worth to me. Just my $0.02

We're not trying to be assholes. But you seriously can't pass of a car in that cobdition for something it's not...ESPECIALLY to a forum of enthusiasts that know what it's worth.

As for parking that car on a corner somewhere and putting a for sale sign on it, I agree that's the best option if he wants that much for it. A lot of younger high school kids would love to start off with a bimmer and have no idea what they're actually worth. As for posting that price here, I really, really doubt anyone will nibble where there are nicer cars going for less money. Last week I saw a really nice '89 325is for $1300 because some guy needed to pay for a student loan or something like that.

You just need to know your market.

A diff wouldn't add any value to that car.

Just remember, Any money you spend on the car now will be a wash. You're not going to get what you're asking now. $400 seems low. $600 seems right.

My $200 318i had a better interior than that.

a slight rip on the seat and you rate the interior as a 7.5/10!!! damn that car looks like you just stole it out of a junkyard.
