1991 BMW 318is for sale. 187,xxx miles. CALIFORNIA CAR. Stock 1.8-liter, 16-valve four-cylinder engine and 5-speed manual transmission. Currently located in Huntington Beach.
Brilliantrot/black. Body is in very good condition. All the trim is present. The black vinyl interior is in very good shape. I had the driver seat redone recently with exact matching material as the rest of the seats. The dashboard has a few small cracks, but overall the interior is in great condition. There is no rust anywhere on this car with the exception of some small surface-only spots due to the need for a paint job. There are some door dings and typical pitting on the front of the car. No fog lamps.
Factory options that came with the car include power windows, a working sunroof and a black headliner (rare on a non-M3 E30 3-Series). Only non-standard items in the interior are an M-Technic I steering wheel and a Kenwood CD player/radio. The 6 button OBC hasn’t worked since we got it and the odometer/speedo has recently started not working from time to time – I don’t think it has over 190,000 miles on it based on how little it’s been driven over the last 6 months.
This is my girlfriend’s car which she got about 3 years ago from her dad who is a 2002 & 3-series hobbyist – he has several at any given time that he restores in a large shop on his property. He bought this car from owners in N. California who had spent over $4k in repairs to give it to their son for his college car. The son put a dent in the side door and they promptly sold it to my girlfriend’s dad. He had a pair of red doors he swapped out when he got it. The doors and electric windows operate fine, but the electronic door locks don’t. They both use the same key as the ignition to manually unlock/lock the doors. There’s a separate key for the trunk lock.
The dad put in a new radiator as well, and had the clutch and transmission overhauled before we got the car. The engine runs smoothly without any issues, clutch engages as it should and the transmission shifts perfectly. The AC blows cold and the heater blows hot. It starts easily and is fun to drive. I replaced the front windshield recently, just had rear brakes/rotors done along with a new battery. The car has the original basketweave wheels with Sumitomo HTR H4 tires (P195/65R14) that have at least 90% of their tread remaining. Full sized spare with additional basketweave wheel in the trunk along with factory tool kit. Also original owner’s manual. Clean title and the car will pass smog. Only selling the car because my girlfriend now has a company car and we don’t need a third car even though we’ll miss this baby.
I’m asking $3,000. Call me (Kelly) at 714-235-9700. Please see photos below:
