This car definitely has a charm and personality all its own.
Its name is Boomer, and he's a raw and rambunctious character.
This is the 17th car I've owned (2nd E30), and I have to say it was one of my all-time favorites. None of those cars got a chuckle out of me as many times as this one did, that's for sure. I hate to see it go.
Although its not worlds more powerful than a stock M20, its a charismatic engine that has plenty of grunt across the RPM band. Something about the cam and muffler combo makes this car sound unlike any other E30 I've ever heard.
I had intentions to build heavily upon its unique character, but the timing of things turned out not in my favor and I have to let it go. This car has a lot of potential, and I've never been one to willingly see that go to waste.
My wish is that someone sees in it what I saw and spends the time and money to take it to the next level.

The Good:
- clean title, solid early-model E30, rust-free
- passed CA smog
- 2.6L stroker: engine is from a late-model 325i, built by E30 Motor Werks in Huntington Beach, stroked to 2.6L using Euro 323i 76.8mm crank, S50 135mm rods, factory "i" pistons, and .098" MLS headgasket)
- compression numbers: #1=170psi #2=179psi #3=180psi #4=178psi #5=170psi #6=170psi
- 885 head with Euro 323i cam (more duration & less lift than stock M20B25) build thread: http://www.e30tech.com/forum/showthread.php?t=83277
- proper "i" conversion with 173 ECU and "i" gauge cluster
- OEM "e" exhaust manifolds and 2:1 system with catalytic converter and 2.5" Flowmaster muffler (nice deep sound)
- M42 radiator, electric cooling fan, deleted a/c, non-ABS car
- deleted p/s with E36 steering rack, M3 CAB's, Momo Mod07 steering wheel
- 3.73 LSD, feels nice and tight, roughly 10k miles on fluid change
- H&R Sport Cup Kit suspension - as low as you can go without a jarring ride and/or coilovers
- 15" Euroweaves (with 10/10 clean center caps - stored away) with 205/55R-15 Dunlop Direzza DZ101 tires (approx. 60% tread remaining)
- G260 5 speed, Euro 323i flywheel, DTM shift plate with Z3 short shifter, Momo shift knob
- extra VDO gauges (mechanical oil pressure hooked up and working, oil temp and volt currently not hooked up)
- sunroof deleted (see below)
- Euro M-Tech 1 front bumper, Hartge rear bumper (both in great shape but could use repainting), Euro grilles, Euro rear plate filler
- ebay racing seats that are surprising light, comfortable, and supportive.
- old-school Alpine tape deck, EQ with aux hookup for ipod, 8" Kicker sub
The Bad:
- exact mileage of chassis is unknown, as cluster was swapped out by previous owner and reset to zero when engine was swapped. Odometer reads approximately 35,000 on engine.
- it burns about a quart of oil every couple thousand miles (I believe #2 cylinder is the culprit, although not 100% sure of the cause)
- the sunroof delete is about halfway complete, as a slicktop was welded in place but the housing for the sunroof was not removed, therefore preventing installation of factory non-sunroof headliner (which will be included with sale)
- car is currently in 3 slightly varying shades of white: roof, left-rear quarter, and whole passenger side in flat white vinyl, hood and trunklid in flat white paint (I peeled off the vinyl which was in rough shape), driver door and fender in glossy Alpineweiss
- I was side-swiped on the driver's side which required replacing of the door and fender on that side (hence the Alpineweiss finish), took a small piece from the lip of the LR wheel, and scratched the side of the rear bumper.
*I will try to address these issues until the car is sold, unless someone decides these are acceptable and takes it off my hands.
