Little background on the car..i bought it stock 3 years ago with a plan of doing a complete restoration as I always admired this particular model as one of my favorite BMW models growing up. This particular car has 3 owners, California car with No Accidents and Clean title! Original Paint, body panels, suspension and interior. Everything that had been replaced is listed below, everything else is original. The air conditioning is not connected, all original lines are still there, It's possible to make it work with the correct components. For local buyers I can refer you to a place if you wish to get it done.
Its a clean E30 in practically stock shape looking for a good home! Essentially I have done everything to factory spec with no aftermarket parts other than exhaust and air filter. Car is an absolute blast to drive. I am selling it due to a new family addition and do not have time to dedicate to it and finish it the way I imagined. The vehicle has current California registration and smog will be provided for the CA buyer.
The best part is that this car is in perfect form for someone to take over and go any route they wish (Your choice of suspension, wheels, and additional modifications), the most important part had been done and that is the drive train!
Around 3000 miles had been put on the car since the rebuild was completed.
Install was done by CASTRO MOTORSPORTS in Los Angeles.
Body:
• Original 1989 BMW 325i Auto 171,617K Miles on chassis with original suspension
(I would recommend fitting this vehicle with new Springs & Shocks)
No rust on bottom of chassis, all OEM bushings, rides smooth, seller can upgrade suspension / wheels of his/her choice and be done with the car :-)
Engine:
• Fully rebuilt 3.4L M30B34 8:9:1 Compression
(As you can see from the photographs nothing was left out, Block and Head were dipped in solvent following the honing & polishing all the parts, bolts and gaskets were replaced by OEM parts from BMW. This engine runs and sounds like new)
New OEM fuel pump
New Water pump, chain + sprocket
Transmission:
• Original BMW 535 5-Speed
• Brand New E28 M5 OEM Clutch (Front and Rear Seals Replaced)
Rear End:
• 1989 325i Auto Rear Diff LSD 4:10 (Short gears)
(Worked great for me as I did not have to spend a lot of time on the highway, if you want to have higher gearing I suggest getting a 3.75 from a Manual 325is model, they can be purchased for around $200 and bolt right up)
Interior:
• Interior is 100 % all stock and in fantastic shape 9/10
• Dashboard replaced as original one was cracked
• LED Lighting inside & Xenon 55W Kit on headlights
Steering wheel came out of convertible model
All options below are in great working order
Manual Sunroof
• On board computer (working properly)
• Gauge Cluster is working properly with all the lights, RPM, MPH
(Mileage is not spinning, a common problem with swaps and easy fix with new gauge cluster gears)
• No AC since there is no room in the engine bay
Wheels & Suspension:
• Original BBS BMW 14” Wheels
• All four wheels are in good shape with original center caps
(Need to be sand blasted and re coated if you want perfect finish)
Exhaust:
• Aftermarket Rear Axle Back Canister
• New Exhaust Piping Header to Axleback, 2.5” Diameter
