Already delivered to GA though? He has a nice little story about how he got it. I talked to him and the timing belt hasn't been done in 10 years.

Guys I don't think it's the same car. I'm in Atlanta and saw the car on craigslist here in the middle of the day yesterday. I've had many cars shipped and it usually takes a bit of planning. Maybe I'm wrong but I just don't think it's feasible he got the car from northern Cali to Atlanta in 48 hours. Plus one car looks like it has one pipe the other two piped am I wrong ??

                      Former Cannonball road racer, perhaps?

Based on local observations, I don't think there is much of a market for flipping E30s. I guess if the car is superb someone would buy it. But those are always in the $8-10K range, which prices out most all rational people. Also, every one of these cars has issues now, like the 10-year old timing belt. Maybe the paint was perfect, and maybe the tires were brand new, but I guarantee I can find the issues because they all have them. Okay, maybe not that M3 that that UK guy did a body-up restoration on!

Full disclosure: My E30 is what most guys would call a "beater" that I paid too much for.

I dunno about that... I bought herbivore's mtech 1 off eBay last month for $6900 (eBay auction debacle) and the car is super well sorted. Leaks nothing, no smoke, no issues... I've been offered. $10k plus from a couple different folks (not sure why since he had it listed up for $9k for months) but nonetheless there is definitely money to be had by flipping e30s... I'll be holding onto mine though ;)

I'm the owner of the E30 in the ad. It is not for sale, although I may have to sell it sooner than I expected. I will find out next month. I'm traveling on the west coast and picked it up to drive between Seattle, Portland, SF, Chicago, LA, etc. The ad is just a feeler to see if I got a bad deal or not. It's a pretty cherry car, especially for its age, but it does need some maintenance.

325Drew, no need to be a dick. No kidding someone is going to talk to you like a you are trash when you start of treating them like crap. You need an attitude adjustment. Obviously it is impossible for the car to be in Atlanta within 48 hours of its purchase with an additional 12k miles on it. Ryan, there is no "story" as you claim. I've attached our email correspondence so you can re-read it at your leisure for clarification. Nice friendly community you guys have here...

A deceitful way to determine a car's value.
