What did you tell him he had? The white appearance package cars were by far the most common and are not "super rare." Besides this one is missing the front bumper/spoiler and has two busted tail lights.

Those cars are not "real" M-Technic verts, they just have the M-Technic body kit. The real ones have 15x7 Euro Weaves, are lowered and have a much sportier suspension, and they have a limited slip diff. These white ones don't have the performance goodies.

So what does the vin number decoder showing a S770A package mean? The Mtech kit isn't good enough to be real? Also showing a S209A 25% limited slip.... The cars are junk just thought i'd share.

Joe, 770 is the m tech appearance package badged "325i." 771 is the rare full m tech/luxury/sport package badged "BMW M technic." People typically refer to either as "m tech" but there should be distinction between the two.

Dunno what the package codes mean, but i do know that the white "M-Tech" cabrios are nothing more than a standard non-sport convertible but with white paint, white interior, standard 14" is wheels but with white faces, and the M-Technic bumper setup and rocker panel pieces (but not the M-Technic rear spoiler). It's simply an "Apperance Package" and adds zero sportiness over a regular convertible. Aside from the way it looks, it ain't nothin special.

The real M-Technic convertibles on the other hand had stiffer shorter sport springs with stiffer shocks, a larger M3 rear swaybar, Limited Slip diff, bigger/wider 15x7 Euro weave wheels with fatter tires, a nice cloth interior, an M-Technic trunklid spoiler, and colors i've seen are red, silver, a sort of purplish-dark blue, and there's a black one running around my town too.
