Lot's of people are buying to flip and everyone wants to make money on top but some of these guys are too much...this wouldn't be the only one. Flipping it two weeks after purchase? reusing text from the same ad? His opening paragraph just sounds like a sleazy sales pitch. These cars are being whored out now. He's clearly banking on the fact the odometer reads 46k miles and looking to cash out. IDM, I always wondered why a 40K mile car would need it's valve cover/plenum refinished. Why not just come out and say the estimated miles? What does the autocheck or carfax show for this car??

auto check shows 32k in 2012 which is when i registered. has no other mention of the mileage prior to that

Based on that report, it wouldn't surprise me if he got $40k+. Strange that it shows no history prior to 2008. What about the first 20 years? Are they washing titles in Fl?

They all end up at Enthusiast auto. Im sure this will to. Single handedly taking the enthusiast out of the market one M car at a time.

^Not knocking the car, but had EA wanted it, they would have bought it when it first was listed IMHO.

                Autocheck seems to be worthless.

I checked it against my 1988 m3 and it shows none of the 150k+ miles prior history (including an accident) that carfax shows before 2000, at whichpoint a motorswap was done on it and a 0 mileage odometer put into it.
Autocheck: 2401 miles in 2001? Looks good!

As a previous poster said, this car has way more than 46k miles on it. It seems buyers on ebay are onto the dubious history, hence the low bids thus far.

A true 46k mile AW/cardinal car with documented history would be bid way up I'd imagine.

I think it was a good buy for what oliver.r sold it for. I feel for the sucker who gets taken by this flipper and pays 40+ for it :(

I foresee this car not going past what oliver listed it at.
m3 buyers seem to be pretty knowledgeable and only the original examples fetch the big bucks. (not to knock this car, but it sure as hell isn't up to a purists standard aka the ones who have the $$)
this car was listed on ebay by opie, what makes the new buyer think he'll get anymore action?

I disagree with the knowledgeable part. Buyer's today tend to be collectors and flippers. They may not necessarily like the car but will snatch it up anyway to fix and flip. I can see someone fascinated by the mileage and trusting the autocheck. Oliver put a lot of work into it and people like shiny things.

I personally think it was just too quick back on the market so that makes buyers wary and they roughly know what it was listed for.

If he had waited a couple of months and listed bit later it will climb.

I personally don't put buyers and flippers in the same category, although flippers technically do 'buy' the car by definition.
I believe that any prospective enthusiast or collector will definitely perform some level of due diligence on any car.
Also, I'm not disregarding any of the work Oliver performed on the car by any means; just noting that it's not original enough to be scooped up by EAG or collector.

maybe he was told how good the M3 is, then heard so much hype around it. bought it. got behind the wheel and thought WTF are people on about. the s14 sucks ass in the flat, it idles poorly, is horrible to cruise in, and generally a race car and not a street car. I wanted one so bad, one week after having mine I was already thinking about selling it. needless to say i no longer have an m3.
                              Much wow

haha. Thats a silly answer. Im pretty sure an e30 325i sucks ass in the flat, idles poorly, horrible to cruise, etc when compared to modern day cars. One does not merely purchase an e30 of any sort for the comfort but rather for the driving experience and the driving experience in the M3 exceeds anything I have driven.
Unfortunately i was never a cabrio fan lol. To each his own but an M3 isn't just a badge for an e30. and just in terms of value Cabrio<m3
