For sale is a 1995 BMW 540i 6 speed. I've owned it for about 5 years and put about $9k into both maintenance and performance upgrades. Having said that, it needs more time and money to be in pristine condition.
Asking $5,500.
Mileage is at 203k, I bought it at 160k. I've have a spreadsheet of every part or work that has been completed on the car as well as the previous owners records. Located in Victorville, CA

Engine - 8.5/10 : - 4L M60 V8 Runs great and pulls hard to 7k. EAT chip installed with a cold air intake and magnaflow muffler/CA cats, resonator deleted. E-fan and shroud installed. Unfortunately it leaks oil most likely from the rear main seal or possibly the oil pan. Could use a new serp. belt and tensioner. Needs an A/C fan, otherwise A/C is functional. No vacuum leaks.
Drivetrain - 9/10: The 6 speed shifts are firm with the factory short shifter. No grinding at all. The shifter has some side to side play.
Brakes and Suspension - 8.8/10: The brakes are in excellent condition. ABS fully fuctional. Front rotors are cross drilled. The suspension is firm. Has factory M-tech sway bars and bilstein sports, with vogtland lowering springs. Most of the front suspension has been replaced a few years ago with new parts. The rear suspension is good. Needs rear subframe bushings and most likely trailing arm bushings.
Wheels and Tires - 8/10: The wheels are authentic BBS RX 17x8 +10. Very clean black powder coating. One of the wheels has a bend, sometimes felt at 55mph. Tires are 245/45ZR17 Falken ZE612s in good condition. Very rarely will the rear tires rub, the fronts do not rub at all. But the car is quite low so you need to pay attention to steep driveways and large speed bumps.
Exterior - 8/10: The alpine white III paint is clean, but it has a few flaws. No major damage. There are a few dents in the middle of the hood. The front bumper is good, the rear is decent. Modifications include 5% window tint on the back, 20% on the front, black-out chrome window trim, rear lip spoiler, M5 rear license plate filler, slightly tinted tailights, smoked front corners and side markers, front euro bumper trim, removed chrome kidneys.
Interior - 7/10: The front sport seats show their age, not all of the electric motors work, so it is nearly impossible to get them to sit straight. The carpet is good but dirty in some areas. The front door pulls will not lock into the door so they are somewhat loose. Dash is crack free, heater and a/c work, audio is good. Front window motor/regulators recently replaced. D/S rear window will hesitate to go up.
