1987 325is, rebuilt Super eta, 272 cam, H&R Sport, Bilstiens, etc., etc.

    SOLD SOLD SOLD!
Thanks to everyone who reached out and help me sell it or tried to buy it. It's going to a good home.

Now that I have your attention...

I have owned this car since 2008 and it was my baby. The engine was rebuilt to Super eta specs with new Maxsil pistons and all new bearings and hardware in the bottom end. It has an "i" head which was resurfaced including valve seats. It also has a 272 degree cam, Metric Mechanic valve springs, and new OEM rockers and valves as well.

Guten Parts did the installation of the already assembled rebuilt engine and "while they were in there" they replaced most of the brackets with powdercoated pieces. If you are interested I can send you the parts list from the Guten portion of the build. It was extensive.

All four calipers were replaced a month ago with rebuilt ATE parts from turnner. It has new blank rotors and new pads.

The following parts are currently installed:
    H&R sport springs
    Bilstein sport shocks
    Poly rear subframe bushings
Brand New rebuilt ATE calipers (as described above)
UUC front sway bar and hardware
    Sparco front strut brace
    CD43 radio
    Z3 short shift kit
Black leather sport interior in good condition
    Crack free dashboard
Euro headlights (with overspray on them. see below for more about that)

    Now the bad....

I crashed the car a couple of winters ago and the left rear fender was pushed in a little. Otherwise there was really no damage. I drove it 200 miles home afterward. I pulled the dent out pretty well using a stud welder and I starting sanding the car for paint. Life got in the way and I didn't have the time so the project sat for a long while. Eventually I had to get it out of my friend's driveway so I took it to someone to have it painted. They gave it back to me in worse condition that it had been before. There is overspray inside the engine bay, paint spilled in the trunk, paint in the center console inside the cabin, and cigaret ash all over the place. The leather on the shift knob and the shift boot were also damaged. This used to be a really nice rust free car, but it is now an honest cosmetic basket case. It will be a great track car for someone who doesn't care about looks. Or maybe buy it for the parts and swap them to your good looking car. All I know is that I need to move on.

Per forum rules I have to post a price so I will say $3000 because I think parting it out could fetch more than that. I am going to sell this car one way or another, though, and he highest offer is going to take it home no matter what it is.

I also have these parts which I can include for the right price:
Bav Auto long tube headers and mid pipes never used
used but good condition ANSA catback exhaust
    e28 Mtech I spoiler
    spare rust free front fender
Borbet type C wheels with RE-11 tires
and a bunch of other miscellaneous gaskets and parts

Here is a link to my old thread with some photos of the car in its former glory as well as a little info and pictures about the engine. http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=137152

And here is a video of the car at an NJMP track day shortly after the rebuild.

I'll post up some pics of the damage a little later.

The car is also in my sig below

I hope the body shop that did this was taken to court and kicked in the teeth by the law..

Very sorry for your "loss", that really sucks.

If I wasn't a thousand miles away I would be very interested in buying it from you and trying to bring it back to life.. A couple gallons of paint thinner could go a long way on most of it. GLWS I suppose, heartbreaking!

      Early models do it better.

What the actual fuck? Was the guy who painted it somebody that knew you'd banged his wife?

              Man...GLWS...

So I had just about gotten over the shock of this whole deal when... I got home this fine evening after a hard days work and received in the mail a totally sweet and awesome $300 parking ticket (court date included). Care of Long Island's number 1 body guy, of course! What a special dude!

Sometimes I wonder why. Why me, God? How have I forsaken you? Was it something I said? Was it that one time in Hawaii when things got weird between us? I am sorry! I am so sorry! Please forgive me whatever it is!!!!!

Anyway, I've had a bunch of interest in this car but nobody has actually come to look at it or drive it. It's in my garage in Brooklyn and I'd be happy to show it this weekend or next. Thanks for looking.

That guy (A) shouldn't be in business and (B) shouldn't be capable of walking right now.

My 13 year-old could do better than that with a rattle can. Seriously.

Yes, the car is still available.

No, I didn't get my money back.

Yes, the asshole can still walk fine.

Yes, he honest thought he did a decent job.

No, I have no idea what drugs he is on.

He is not responding to my attempts to contact him. The latest thing has been the $300 ticket. Short of suing him I don't know what to do. Despite my instincts, violence is not an option.

You need to sue him and/or his company ASAP.

For those who have expressed interest here or via PM, I have added a bunch of photos to that photobucket link. They will give a good idea of the car's history in my care. There are some photos of what it used to look like before this jerk touched it. That includes the interior which could clean up really nice once again with a little love.

This guy is poor as hell, is a delinquent and probably a junkie, and will most likely never pay. All it would serve is to be a pain in his ass and force him to miss a day of work for a court date. It would be just as much of a pain for me.
