Geez $100k, I understand the rarity of the vehicle and the difficulty of finding one in the US, but it seems to me like this bubble just keeps getting bigger, how much further will it grow...

You can buy a lot of car for 100k, I'm not seeing it even from a huge e30 enthusiast like myself.

You guys can't knock him (or company) for trying. I bet you he'll get close to that asking price, especially since it's in the bay area. Money is like toilet paper out there.

If you owned something that rare/collectible you'd for sure ask a high price for it. Doesn't hurt to try...and with 182 watchers currently, it's definitely making itself known to car enthusiasts/potential buyers around the world.

I agree that it's a steep price. I myself would rather spend 100k on a different vehicle. I'd settle for a normal run of the mill e30 m3 for 1/4 of the price. I'll never have the coin to drop on a purchase like that.

Honestly - the way 911 prices have gone, it's not that crazy a price.

I agree. Ten years ago, a 911 RS was considered to be overpriced at around $200k. Now, they are being fought over at $750k.

Decent unrestored e30 M3's with over 75k miles on them are being sold quickly at over $50k. Low mile one owner near perfect e30 M3's are fetching well over $75k. Does the rarity of the EVO model add another $25k? Probably.

The main things IMHO which lower this EVO's are: 1. it has just under 100k miles on it; 2; the rear quarter panel was replaced; 3. The seller mentions a cosmetic restoration and I am not sure what that means; 4. The car had spent a significant time over in Europe and that means that rust may be lurking.

Yes and no. The amount of passion there is for this car, I can assure you that it was exceptionally well taken care of. I'd be willing to say that the cosmetic restoration included fixing minor surface rust in the quarter that was replaced Then a full respray was done at no expense spared.

minor body work and paint would be a given for a car such as this. you already know it's seen it's fair share of time at the ring and a couple dozen laps around Hockenheim. 100k, no..75-80k is a much more reasonable Price and probably what it sold for.

I say this because I have a Warrant Officer stationed here that has an Evo that looks almost identical to this that was restored to OEM+ conditions with some racing bits added in. He paid about $55k here in Germany, and that was a steal. Would it pick up an extra 20k as soon as it hit US soil?

You bet your ass it will.
