new stuff:
gas tank ($500 installed)
new exhaust ($300)
front brake pads ($100)
custom stereo install with headunit in the glove box and with stock unit still in place and new wires($200)
new paint one year ago with slight body work ($800)
tires one year old, as is a new subframe
m10 motor runs fine and the body is solid- will be fine as is or would be great for an engine swap as i believe that this was the lightest e30 ever

I just bought another e30, an m42. It is hard for me to get rid of this one, but there is no room for two cars in my life right now. I love this car...but it can be yours...

Just some advice. I have a 318 as well that's in MUCH better condition that yours, and mine would have a hard time fetching $1500. I bet if you adjust your price a bit, you'll get some bites.
