Looking for a rust free e30 in the NY area, willing to travel to MA,VT,NH,PA etc if the price is right. Late/early model doesn't matter, Prefer a coupe but will entertain sedans. Hell even if it has a blown motor! Main priority is no rust.

you poor guy. not saying your quest is impossible, but rust free and new york in the same sentence is pretty much an oxymoron. i think there are about a half dozen fairly recent "wtb e30 shell" ads from members in your area on r3v right now. people don't generally part out rust free cars in the snow belt. they just install another engine and head on down the road. why don't you expand your search to tennessee and the carolinas? still plenty of rust free bodies within 600 miles of you.

yeah, you might find an e30 carpet in NY that doesn't have rust. you'll probably have better luck finding one in a surrounding state that doesn't use salt.

Have a pretty clean '89 sunroof coupe in bronzit. I'll just copy pasta the ad for it from CL that I ran last winter before I took it down because plastic radiator nipple sprung a little leak (so ~100 miles on new radiator, thermostat, and pretty much all the hoses).

I just got back in the fall from 3 years in Japan, was a project I worked on now and again, didn't drive it much because of low miles and auto tranny had a problem I couldn't figure out. Manual swapped it in October or November. Bought it about 6(?) years ago with ~96600 miles, currently has ~97600 or so. Lived in my mom's climate controlled garage while I was gone. No serious rust, but a few little bits of purely surface rust where the paint has been scratched and the like. I spend a lot of time underneath the car doing the swap, rebuilding calipers, installing the Bils, and the underbody is spotless and rust free. It had the typical rust out underneath the battery box and I had it professional repaired with metal--it's as good as new.

Only real flaws: paint has the typical bronzit scuffed look to it, and the clear coat has lost its shine on the hood. PO must have bumped something back in the day as the front bumper is bent up just the slightest bit, generally not noticeable unless I point it out. Theres a crease just behind the drivers door, was thinking about talking to a PDR guy about it. 6 button OBC is half orange.

1989 BMW 325i E30 5-spd coupe

Selling a very clean 1989 325i coupe. Only 97K miles and it shows. Interior is like a time capsule with mint un-cracked dash, perfect seats, spotless carpets, OEM radio, etc. Body is in good condition -- still has all original BMW body panel stickers. Paint is in good condition, with some fading in places typical for its age.

It's in mechanically excellent condition with a lot of recent work.
