WTB: 91-93 E30 M Technic II manual convertible

I'm looking to buy a 91-93 E30 M Technic II manual drive convertible, appearance package or M-Tech II. I would prefer colors other than white but I will consider white. I live in Salt Lake City, Utah and will travel to get the car. My price range is dependent on the E30's, condition, color, miles, engine, etc... but I'm willing to pay top dollar for the right car.
    Thanks for your help.

M Technical are only 1991, and yhe are 4/91 production date, and 3 colors, red, blue and silver.

Appearance package cars are '92, almost all are white, with a few black cars. Manuals are around 1/5.

        http://e30ic.com/M-technic.htm

Read this. And realize how rare a proper M Technic car is, especially a manual.

Great link. Thanks for passing it along.
That explains why I am seeing the bulk of M Tech's in white. It's the appearance package.

Yeah, a real mtech II vert will run you some serious money. The appearance package with a manual is around $5-8k depending upon condition.

91-92 for M Tech appearance package (white/black) with about 1000 of them produced. 91 only for M technic (red/silver/blue) with about 250 of them produced. Verts tend to be driven sparingly so they are out there. GL with your search.

Awesome info guys. Thanks for the help. I love the M tech body style and I guess that's what I'm after the most. I've updated my post to include the M tech appearance package to broaden the the scope of my search. Thanks!

More like $6k-$10k+ for a factory manual, if you can find one. $5-8k is white automatic territory.

There's a nice 5 lug black vert on ebay right now. Bids are surprisingly low, looks like it's worth ~$8k in major parts alone, probably much more. But, it's not a factory Tech 2 car, the kit was added. If you care about originality, definitely pass.

                    I sold my mtech2 w on w for almost 11k 2 years ago.
everything worked and was in perfect condition.

if you want a nice one, be prepared to drop up to 15k.
                    Much wow

I saw the eBay car. This is the third time it's been listed. The first time had a buy it now price of $25K. So far the bidding hasn't gotten past his reserve. What is your estimate on the value of that car?

Also, lots of fake ones out there. Get the last 7 digits of the VIN, and run it through the BMW vin decoder.

I'll pm you my last 7 so you can see what the options should look

No idea. Most people looking for a car like that would rather buy a real appearance package or true Tech 2 car, so it's in a weird limbo zone. David V sold his very nice Alpina/Tech 2 car for ~$11k, same deal, he added the body kit.

So 1175 appearance package and 150 full M tech are the official numbers which sound about right to me.
