    I'm interested, but would like to see how bad the rust is. this would be a nice project to convert it over to LHD.

            Don't want to hijack this thread, but assuming a complete running USA 325i is available for parts, how hard would it be to convert this car to LHD? Would anything need to be cut/modified, or would it just be a whole bunch of parts being moved from one car to the other?

            I will hopefully be in the market for a Touring later this year, so the possibility of converting a RHD car to LHD may open up more possibilities.

            Thanks for any info/responses.

              First off why would you want to convert it? It seems like a lot of work to convert it rather then just finding a LHD one. These were originally designed as LHD but modified. If you look the brake booster is still on the left side and everything under the dash is pretty much interchangeable as far as I know but you will still need to cut holes in the firewall and have open ones where you removed things. I can get you pictures of the dash removed. I am adding A/C to my other RHD touring right now and the dash happens to be removed

                The swap is not bad. Steering column, steering rack, and the dash. Everything else is already there. And don't forget to turn the headlight case to LHD. But remember it's not a walk in the park to do. It's time consuming, I personally would leave it as is and confuse people on the road....lol

                    Yea that is my thought on it to lol. Its a little awkward at first but you learn to get used to it. Not sure how long it will take me to get used to a manual one though. The only thing that still gets me is I try to get in on the passenger side all the time

                      Wow - guess I need to defend my question, since it got the dreaded "lol" response.

                      I would definitely rather NOT do a RHD to LHD conversion. I also do not want a RHD car for a semi-daily driver. The "awesome"ness of RHD would wear off the first time I tried to use an ATM or drive up mailbox.

                      I've been keeping an eye on the Tourings for sale in the USA since last fall, and there aren't that many. Most of them have more rust than I want to deal with (like this one). Almost none of them have A/C, and a good number of them have M40 engines with slush boxes. Also, prices that people in the USA are willing to pay for them seems to have cooled off, so I don't anticipate a flood of new ones being imported.

                      So, Old city bimmer's comment about this being a good candidate for a LHD swap got me thinking - if I find the otherwise perfect Touring for me and it's RHD, should it be a deal killer or is the swap a viable alternative.

                      Now, back to the point of this thread - I hope someone buys this car and has loads of fun with it. Just make sure you always have a hottie in the passenger seat to work the ATM and pick up the Arctic Orange shakes from the drive through.

                        Valid point it is a pain in the ass to go through drive throughs and yes not many of them have a/c but hopefully by the end of the weekend I will know what it takes to add it (adding it on my other touring)

                              Yea I will gather all the info I can. My mechanic is the one doing the work really but I can get as many pics and info as I can. So far everything seems pretty easy. We switched the a/c box from a standard LHD car and everything seemed to fit just fine and it seemed like the main harness was prewired for the box wiring so as of right now that seems plug and play. But the engine bay harness does not have the wiring or the relay for the compressor so thats what we are working on now. Fortunately for me I run a salvage yard and have 4 E30s in the yard right now. But it seems like the only some what complicated part is going to be wiring the compressor everything else is just adding the parts that are missing. I plan to make 2 wiring harnesses at the same time to either give to the buyer of this car or do the work if I cant make a deal with someone
