    FS: 1991 325i M Technic

Selling a beautiful 1991 BMW M-Tech Convertible located in Laguna Niguel, Orange County, CA. The car is in excellent condition, with the only issue being the convertible top motor. I just purchased a new convertible top and all of the parts necessary for the convertible to work are there, but a new motor is needed. This car has 175,990 miles and I have a folder of the mechanical work that has been done on the car since. I am the second owner of the car and have had it for 17 years.

The photos of the car speak for itself. Let me know if anyone has any additional questions on the car and I will try to provide an answer.

I am not sure exactly what to price the car at, but saw one in similar condition with similar mileage with a working convertible top go for 13.5, so I figured I would start it at 12,000 or best offer.

Nice Mtech! I just picked one of these up myself.

I have a question though: Isn't your car supposed to have Mtech cloth inserts in the seats and interior panels? It looks like you still have the leather wrapped center console, but your seats don't seem right to me.

Not all 91 mtechnic cars had the cloth inserts, it was an available option. GLWS!

          M-tech II

I have seen this car around Lake Forest & talked to the owner several years ago when it "wasn't" for sale. It's the real thing & looks to be in very well kept condition. A couple of easy cosmetic fixes & it's a stunning car! If I remember correctly it was purchased off the used car lot of the BMW dealer (who sold it new) in the LA Beverly Hills area. Original M-Tech badge on the grill has been NLA for 10 years & is worth a pretty penny by itself.

The interior is correct as all black leather including doors, center console & rear seat sides/speaker covers. The build sheet on the 91 M-Tech's shows blk leather interior as standard with the fabric M-tech II an option when this package was purchased.

This car is actually much more rare than the other red 91 M-techs, as most dealers who ordered this model went with the fabric insert option. It's probably one of ten built (having the FULL black leather) versus one of @ 31 built total - in the brilliantrot.

Someone should jump on this - rare car in good condition, 2 owners, records & good price!!

Awesome, thanks for sharing this information! Is the total production number of Brillantrot '91 Mtech convertibles known? The one we have has the cloth inserts, and I'm always looking around for more information on them.

                Best guess - Mfg records & ETK for the '91 Brillantrot M-tech's show 14 - 5 speeds & 17 automatics.

It actually sold on craigslist last week.

I made a deal with seller for 6k and my friend after seeing it that weekend was heading over with the cash on monday. To our surprise the guy sold it to someone else that came to see it that morning for 6100!

Imagine the disappointment and frustration but oh well what can you do.

Needed a lot of work and had some issues but still descent car. The front hood, fenders and bumper were all redone due to a collision. Had dot r stickers all over and overspray.

Wow, sounds like your lucky you didn't get it. Could have been hidden frame damage, especially if both fender's and the hood where replaced. Regardless sorry to hear, I've had the same thing happen to me quite a few times in the past.
