Hey r3v, I've decided to finaly let go of my '86 GTI as E30's and E36's have all my attention and money now. I've owned this car for about a year and love driving it, just not as much as someone else probably will. It's a bone stock '86 8V with 261k on the clock, shifts good, clutch is smooth, good brakes, good tires, tight steering, great interior, just some typical cosmetic issues such as the faded trunk lid. I'd give the exterior a 6.5/10 and the interior an 8/10 due to the saggy headliner. The car is in central California, about 2 minutes from Laguna Seca in Salinas.

As a former A2 GTI owner (and an '86 8v at that, much like yours when it was stock) I wish you all the luck selling your little beastie. Seems like a fair price considering it's not a 16v and seems fairly clean.

So, rust? Parking brake working? Strut mounts in need?

I had an 89 16V, I liked it when it worked but it was such a shit car 90% of the time, I'll never own another VW.

No rust, handbrake works, turn key driver!
