WTB - e30 coupe, manual transmission (DMV/east coast area)

UPDATE: I bought a '91 318is in March. No longer looking for an e30.

    Hi all,

I'd like to purchase an e30 coupe with a manual transmission as a project. Body must be clean (no rust). Color doesn't matter. Must be in drive-able and good condition. I'm trying to find something local to the DC/MD/VA area. Budget is around $7K.

Please let me know if you have something available! :D

    Thanks,

    Mike

It would help if you posted how much money you have to spend.

$6000 and you have options. $600 and.. well.. lol.

        A fair point! :D

Let's say I have $6K to spend, possibly more depending on the car. I'm hoping that gets me something with around 150K miles and in good shape. I've been looking on various forum classifieds, craigslist, autotrader, cars.com, and ebay for a while. There seems to be a wide price range on these cars. I've seen decent cars listed for as little as $1500 or as much as $12K.

I've been thinking about selling mine. I live in Aberdeen, MD but spend some time at the in-laws in Vienna, VA....will be there this weekend in fact.

Nope! I said it was around $6K. I was just commenting that I've seen nice ones go for as much as $12K.

Not mine. Saw it on CL.

Do you like metal or plastic bumper?

I prefer the plastic bumper, but the metal bumper with a lower valence also looks good. I saw one in Harrisonburg with metal bumper and lower valence that looked nice. Mileage was a little high though.

A 325xi coupe came up for sale in Burke, VA 2 night ago. I contacted the guy, but he had sold it by the following morning and I wasn't supposed to view it until later that day. Gotta act fast when the nice ones become available!

I want a RWD, manual transmission, coupe. The body must be rust free (which might be asking a lot, but that's my preference for now).
