          Nice! GLWS

I'd consider it if you were on the opposite coast.

Please review the forum rules for selling items (no links to CL/eBay; pics required). Thanks in advance.

How hard/expensive is it to BAR this? It's what I'm looking for.

If you can get your hands on a proper exhaust system thats the biggest part. Theres a S50 midpipe thats for sale in Santa Barbara right now for $100. Other than that as long as the charcoal canister is present and there isnt any funny business it should be fairly easy. Theres leg work to do and too many people are too lazy to deal with it.

Yes, you can "find a guy" to smog it for a little more, but the value in a BAR legal 24v is worth the extra effort IMO

It looks to be a pretty clean car, so I think someone whos willing to do that extra effort would be well off. Especially if you negotiate that special smog to be part of the purchase price, you just bought yourself 2 years to get it done right. The only downside to me is that its a non-vanos M50, but some like that

It actually is VANOS! You can hear the VANOS goin in the video when the camera is in the engine bay (I think?).

In regards to what needs to be done for BAR, it needs stock exhaust headers installed (currently has aftermarket headers), it DOES need a charcoal canister installed, it needs some vacuum hoses rerouted, the check engine light needs to be fixed, there is a check engine code stored of 73 for the speed sensor, and...that's it! I went to BAR and that's the list of stuff I got from them. No funny business.
M50 exhaust manifolds + the S50 midpipe wouldnt be much, even if you paid a shop to install it. Call it $500 max. Less if you sell the headers to offset the cost, could be done extremely cheap if you are resourceful.

Charcoal canister installed is a junk yard fix. Call it $10

Mine had the CEL for the VSS and you just need to run one wire to the cluster from the X20. $0 cost

but this is NOT a Vanos motor. It CAN be retrofitted later in life, but Id like to see someone build up a non vanos motor.

This is still a great car for a great deal, its giving me bad thoughts, though I have zero use for it. Look through the pics and you can see a lot of goodies that justify the cost. GLWS
