    1987 325ic for $3,600 (Chicago area)

    SOLD!

Sadly the kids are getting bigger and they take up too much space in the back seat and too much time to take care of my dear E30, the favorite one I’ve owned. This is a 1987 BMW 325ic convertible, with a (fairly uncommon) royalblau-metallic exterior and a perlbeige leather interior, with a manual transmission. The car has approximately 172k miles.

The Good: It has been a reliable daily driver for me over the past 4.5 years. It pulls strong, shifts smooth, turns tight, and stops quick. AC blows cold. The body is in very good shape, with only a few challenged spots (see below). The previous owner worked for BMW and sold the car to me with several boxes of spare parts, which I will pass along to you. I also have services records dating back to the original purchase in 1987, including information on mods by the PO’s (see list below for all the mods I can remember!). The car comes with a full set of snow tires on BBS basketweaves, which have a lot of tread left. Clear title is in hand.

The Bad: It has some of the normal wear and tear of a 29yo daily driver. Each of the seats has some splitting at the leather seams. The paint is in very good shape overall, but there are two small spots where the clear coat is failing, and some of the paint on plastic trim is starting to craze. There are a few “reverse dents” in the trunk lid that have tiny spots of rust. Carfax indicates that the car hit an animal at some point and the driver’s side fender is a DOT replacement, but it was repaired very cleanly without affecting the title. The oil pan drain plug is stripped and I don’t want to risk damaging the oil pan to get it out… so I’ll include a Mityvac 7400 fluid extractor that I’ve been using for oil changes. It is due for a timing belt soon. And, finally, the odometer stopped working about three months ago at 169k miles.

I’m asking $3,600 for the car and all accessories. The best way to contact me is via email, so send me a DM through the site and I’ll give you my address.

Free bump for a very reasonable asking price. I'm so tired of seeing these beat to shit E30's trying to fetch $6k. GLWS, it seems like this car was taken care of in its 3 decades of existence.

                      I like it a lot.
Is it just me or.. idk I feel like there is a lot of decent $3-$5 e30s on here. I haven't looked at the classifieds in a while but these prices are giving me hope for future purchases!
