Yes. If I swap the s50 in it would be on my terms unfortunately. If the s50 is installed by me, the buyer would have to be an idiot to buy because he would have ZERO proof of what was done to the car....regardless of receipts and what is said.
If I swap the s50 and sell it as such, the rebuild I would add to the cost and take it beyond not only the range of the ‘flipping’ crowd, but also most of the general buyers. I am selling these items the way I would buy them, if someone were selling them.

As for the other option which is the rebuilt m20, everything is new. It is easy to fit because it’s MADE for the chassis. It would be great fun to do and since it’s BEST REASONABLE OFFER FOR INSTALLATION AND ACTUAL VALUE OF THE PARTS, which I would have to pay a shop for, it’s fair methinks.

Yes s50 is in parts, but they’re all in one place and anyone would pay the same amount for such parts. Just check the for sale section for a comparison.

The m20 can be had with safety from a shop. Simple math for what one would pay to do this.


Or I keep it and finish my original plan. I have other shell cars and more parts, please look at the Kijiji ads in Toronto as well.

I tried to read this thread, but I gave up when I got to the third page. I have no idea what is going on here.

Sounds like OP is just trying to sell a ton of parts for what he paid, which in my experience is entirely unrealistic.

For perspective, a member just sold his functional S50 swap, in a clean Calypso coupe for $5K. His car also had some dings, small scratches and faded paint. Hence the $5k price.

Thank you. Sorry for the confusion. All prices are negotiable within reason .....just that the shell has low k and for a 32kmile car, I don’t think I’m being unrealistic. I would pay that if I could buy all those items in one place, with most of the labour to produce a thorough and known product, can be had and is in place.

I would want to rebuild an s50 motor that’s accessible and out of the car. I would want to have a gutted rust free shell which is a SLICKTOP and free of ABS. I see this as saved costs on removing drivetrain, ability to take to a bodyshop with nary a bolt seized etc and have the option of just waxing the car with some touch ups.

I have bought swapped cars. Had to redo everything from scratch ....every ....single...time. I wouldn’t do that again nor to anyone else. Not a good long term proposition.

As a side note, not having abs is not only nice for weight/unnecessary complexity, it’s also the perfect situation for a v8 swap. The e34 brake booster would have to be positioned exactly at the same spot the abs unit would occupy.

Anyone should do these things to have a rebuilt known condition shell and motor. That’s my point but perhaps the lazy route with a used swap is more economical for everyone. I’m just not one of those people.

I’m sorry you feel the pictures posted were not sufficient. The car has been stored for a long time and doesn’t run so it’s not easy to maneuver at the moment. As a compromise, I have taken pictures of KNOWN problem areas for the e30 along with the slightly faded roof.
If there is serious interest, I will post more pictures but for now, it’s a Diamant SCHWARZ Sedan. It hasn’t been in any accidents and I’m not hiding anything. The potential buyer will show up with cash, look at the damn thing and decide if they want me to sign over the ownership.

Hope that works for now and I will get to posting more complete pictures soon....unless some of my other shells sell. I will retain this sedan in that event and will update this post accordingly.
