I am considering selling my 1991 BMW 318is. I have been using this E30 as my daily driver for the past 6 months, it is extremely reliable and has never given me any trouble. This car is adult owned and it is my 5th E30 over the years.
The car has a CLEAN CALIFORNIA TITLE in my name, current registration that I just paid through Aug. 2019, passes smog with flying colors, has ice cold A/C, and most everything works. Again, I drive this every day and have never had any issues with it. the car has many aftermarket parts as well as maintenance items replaced, I do have receipts for a lot of the work/parts. I will try to remember some of the items
ENGINE/DRIVETRAIN
- Mark D'Sylva ECU chip
- Coil on plug conversion
- new motor mounts
- reinforced front subframe at motor mount area
- m42 mess under the intake deleted
- Alternator and fan clutch replaced last year by B&B Autohaus
- Rear differential resealed last year by B&B Autohaus
- New spark plugs, all vacuum lines and fuel lines in the engine compartment replaced
- New belts
- New A/C receiver dryer, New A/C fan resistor, converted to R134 Freon
- New front and rear brake pads
- Power steering delete - car steers fine without it and is less drag on the motor. I did however buy a brand new expensive replacement pump in case I wanted to add it again.
Car idles perfectly, never gets hot, has about as much power as any m42 motor can make stock. The gearbox shifts great, clutch is good and the diff is good. The motor is very healthy. It does not burn oil or smoke at all. You would never know that it is a 250k+ mile car. It does not appear to leak oil as I park it in the same place every day and there is nothing on the ground.
SUSPENSION
- Megan Euro Coil over suspension, fully adjustable ride height and dampening
- OEM 16'' BMW E38 BBS style 5 wheels. re drilled fronts for a proper look without adapters .
- Garagistic front strut tower bar
The e38 style 5 wheels are great because they are an OEM BMW wheel as well as being a BBS wheel. I don't like fake wheels so these are my go to e30 wheels unless I want to drop big money on some rebuilt RS's.
The coilovers are adjusted way to low for most people unless you are used to driving these cars like this. the coilovers can be adjusted up easily in an hour or less. I personally like the look so I just deal with it.
EXTERIOR/INTERIOR
- Euro front grilles
- Euro rear plate filler
- Depo smoked smiley cross hair headlights with H.I.D. headlight conversion
- M-tech 1 rear spoiler (fiberglass repo)
- BMW mud flaps
- BMW front plate filler
- Roof racks are included
- OEM front IS spoiler, custom mounted so it does not fall off every day
- Front IS add on lip splitter
- Red46 front skid plate
- Aftermarket stereo system with USB hookup
- Nice aftermarket alarm system tied into the central locking system
- Renown Monaco steering wheel with tricolor stitching (stock airbag wheel included also)
- E30Head door cup holders
Cosmetically the car is in what I would consider fair to decent for an e30. The alpine white paint is faded in a couple areas, the car has plenty of dings and scratches, as it should for a well used 27 year old car. it is straight and rust free though and all the VIN numbers match on all the panels. The paint does shine and some touch up and PDR would make it very presentable. The interior is good with the exception of the normal cracked dash and a torn drivers seat. the rest of the upholstery is in good condition. The Ferrari horn button, Ferrari floor mats and BMW CCA grille badge are not included with the car. The Renown horn button and BMW floor mats are included
*CONS*
- Windshield has some large chips/cracks
- Right side high beam headlight lens is cracked, Left side gets condensation when washed
- new P/S pump needs to be installed if you want to hook it back up
- Car could use a new muffler, the one on the car is louder than I like
- Temp gauge works when it feels like it, if you tap the cluster it wakes up.
SOLD SOLD SOLD
The only car I would consider trading for is a 2002-2006 Mini Cooper S plus cash or a complete running classic Mini Cooper. Please feel free to contact me if you are interested in buying it. Thank you.
