    I also have heard that there was some consideration towards forced induction the the car, of which would have made the car cherry. None of this could have saved the car from it's demise though from all the forces that were riding against it. Not too mention just how expensive the turbo addition would have made the car, of which it was already more expensive than the market was willing to embrace.

      yep price tag back in the day was $25,000, which would be about $6x,000
      in 2007 dollars.

      but that texas DMC make DeLoreans with custom exhaust systems so now big catalytic converter that chokes the engine.
