Its not that hard getting that car to TX if you want it. Don't let the distance discourage you, shipping is about $700 and at that price, that vert is still a very good deal for what it is.

My dad buys & sells cars on the side & most of his customers are out of state.

What shape is the top in? Got pictures?
Top's in pretty nice shape with a reasonably clear plastic window. It opens and closes just like it's supposed to, and it's not going to need anything for years yet.

I added a photo of it to the original post for you.

Wow...that top is great shape! My cabbie just got totaled in a literal fender bender...I'm working on convincing the wife that we need to replace it with another one. ;)

Bummer, sorry to hear about that. As mentioned above, I had a car totalled this summer (not what you'd call a fender bender though...60mph smack into a mostly stationery, very at-fault Jetta on the freeway saw to that) and it sucks.

I would have no doubts at all about this car's ability to make a nice road trip like Phoenix, though...;)

I got pushed off the highway by a raised F350 who decided to change lanes on top of us...and the only real damage was to the driver's front fender. Sure, there were tire burns that ran the length of the door too, but they came out with some elbow grease.

I'd driven mine to LA twice to pick up seats, (once for the fronts, once for the rears) and I love the drive. We'll see how convincing I am in making a case for a convertible/convertible replacement.

Hey, if the commute in the cabby is annoying you, get a hard top. I swear by mine, makes the car completely different (and much more quiet!).

best of luck with the sale.

Turns out my car won't be totaled, so it looks like I'm out. Good luck with that...it's a beautiful car.
