    FS: Urgent - 1992 318ic - need to sell by TOMORROW

    Well, I've gotten myself into a bit of a situation. I came home from traveling for the holidays to find that the nice folks at my homeowners association, being in the Christmas spirit, decided to have my e30 towed while I was gone. Merry Christmas to me.

    At any rate, towing fees have piled up and I'm tempted just to tell them to keep the car rather than pay. It's been sitting for some time and with my new job I just don't have the time to do anything with it.

    Everything about the car can be found here:

    It's a bit dirty now, but otherwise in the same condition. I replaced the top with one from a scrapped car, and the new top is on ok shape but needs to be adjusted a bit in order to go down properly. I've got the replacement strip for the passenger window, so that would be provided to the buyer. Hard top was sold and is not included. Car will need a new battery.

    At any rate, looking for $1200. Like I said, I'd need to know by tomorrow. LMK if anyone is interested.

          OK, here's the current situation:

          I've had a fair amount of interest (I've posted this on bimmerfest, r3vlimited, and bimmerforums). The guy that owes the tow company gave me a call and said a buddy of his wants to buy the car and will offer me $1k. In addition, the guy is willing to waive all my fees ($500). Guy's planning to pay on the 31st.

          Effectively in this situation I'm getting $1500 for the car. Obviously I'd rather sell to someone in the BMW community, but I'm in a tough spot here. If I were to not sell to the guy I'd be on the hook for an extra $30 each day the car is there.

          I don't want it to seem like I'm pulling a bait and switch on the price, but given that I'm kind of at the mercy of the tow guy, I guess that's what I'm doing. I'm planning to sell to the guy on Monday unless he backs out, but in the meantime if for some reason someone really wants this car, you have until then to make an offer. I'll update the thread either way on Monday.

                          Hey guys;
                          Well due to a software glitch ,I was unable to post sooner.So I'll just get to the point now.That '92 convertible that caused such a stir on 12/28,was purchased by me on 12/29.

                          After driving down to the Philly area from NYC, and seeing the car sitting in the front row of the impound yard ,covered in grime,I almost changed my mind .But after a few minutes of staring at it,I saw its true potential,which is a very clean and well sorted car.So far the car has not dissapointed me with its reliability and responsiveness ,while averaging close to thirty miles per gallon for the 300 miles that I've owned it.

                          I don't have too many mods planned for it right now,just looking to swap out the interior and put on a set of 16 or 17" wheels. I'll keep you posted.
