Some of you already know that at the beginning of this year I started a new line of work that has been doing well with even better prospects on the horizon. The downside to my success is that I am driving my car a lot (100+ miles a day is par for the course lately) and between the mods I have installed and the price of premium grade fuel here in Kalifornia, it seems the fiscally responsible thing for me to unload this car and find something much more economy minded to improve the bottom line as an independent contractor. In case you're wondering, I do process serving for a living. So having said that, and giving much thought to what is the prudent thing to do at this time, I am guaging interest in my car. The thought of selling it bums me out big time because I love these cars....this is the third E30 I've owned. I have several friends with E30s as well and I can't begin to recount all that I have learned during wrenching days.....be it my car or one of theirs. I've also taken this car to Thunderhill a few times and had an absolute blast with it. Truly a fun car that's straight-forward to work on and a lot of fun to toss around on a race track. I know the moment it sells I will regret it for a long time.
Now, on to my whip....
1991 325i, 2 door, 5 speed, 2nd owner since Nov. 2004 (bone stock when I acquired it), Alpineweiss exterior, black interior, 194K miles on the clock. Overall condition is good.....by no means perfect. I feel this car makes for a good candidate for either: sprucing up for a nice street ride - or - gut it and make it a track/auto-x car. Depending on your "modus operandi", this car is ideal for either one. Another option would be to continue using it as it is for a DD. Since it isn't a garage queen you won't be too nervous about leaving it out in bad weather, parking in tight spots, or worry about someone stealing it (I've kept mine parked in the driveway every night for years now and nothing has happened to it). Below is a list of fixes/upgrades I've made to it during my ownership.....
Bilstein Sport shocks
Ireland Engineering Stage 3 springs
Ireland Engineering front strut brace (faux Sparco)
Tree House Racing control arm bushings
Ground Control rear shock mounts
cryo-treated PowerSlot front rotors (new in late '05)
Balo OEM spec rear rotors (new in late '05)
New wheel bearings all around (Spring '06)
New guibo and driveshaft center support bushing (Fall '07)
SS brake lines
OEM spec pads all around (have CarboTech and Hawk pads avail. for track duty)
Ate SuperBlue fluid
Redline fluid in the tranny
4.10 large case LSD with Redline fluid
UUC Evo short shift kit with Delrin bushing upgrade
Custom exhaust from a local shop consisting of a modified Stromung cat-back with aftermarket catalyst (to pass smog) and test pipe
Racing Dynamic 15x7 wheels shod with 225/50 Falken Ziex 512s (6K miles on tires)
Alpine AM/FM/CD with detach face (no literature on this, came with the car when I bought it)
I'm sure there are noteworthy items which I am overlooking at this time. My original plan with this car was to eventually make it into a street/track car but as you know work & responsibilities are changing that. In the last couple years I was amassing the parts needed to make it into a track car and I would like to sell these with the car as a package deal. These items include (but are not yet installed):
Autopower 4-point cage
Sparco fixed-back racing seat with custom brackets for E30 install (ideal for those 5'10'' to 6'0'' tall and waist up to 34")
Schroth harnesses (2)
Ireland Engineering sway bars (25mm & 22mm)
Factory skid plate
Spare oil plan (was planning on putting in a baffling/windage tray)
Spare AFM with box
Extra 02 sensor
half dozen Malhe oil filters
couple of spare headlights
Bentley E30 manual
Spare M20B25 longblock with 101K orig. miles on it (been stored for 5 years)
Please don't ask me to part with anything separately - as I said already I would much prefer to sell it all as a package deal versus deal with the hassle of packing/shipping of everything separately.
Looking to get $9,000 for everything. I will get more pics for those serious and realistic offers.
