FOR SALE: 1991 318is Brilliantrot 171K - $4500
Thinking about selling this car; overall been very happy with the car but have an opportunity to buy back my old E36 which would be awesome. Just can't have two cars living on OSU campus.
Had the car for about 2.5 Years, knew the previous owner. He traded it in at the Lexus Dealership that I work at for a 02 Honda Accord. He put about $4000 worth of repairs into it before trading it. Headgasket, water pump, nearly every oil and air-flow seal, just to name a few.
This car has the supposedly 'rare' striped cloth sport interior. Its pretty awesome, and gray. Also has the Limited-Slip diff. I upgraded the headlights to the 325i-spec lights to be a baller and such.
Overall operating condition:
Interior Amenities-
Everything works.
Windows work, switches all work, even the A/C works awesome, and et al.
CD-Player is some ancient Alpine, likes some CD-Rs, doesnt like Rap.
Never smoked in.
One small crack in dash (see pic) - about an inch long.
Engine/Transmission-
Leaks no oil that I can tell.
On really cold days its got a lifter that ticks for like a minute then goes away. Doesn't do it on warm days.
Exhaust is quiet.
Transmission shifts fine.
Just changed the Diff oil with Redline.
Clutch feels great, no slip, no noise of wear.
Suspension/Steering-
Replaced the pump when I first got it cause it was noisy.
Has a small drip coming from the reservoir-pump hose. I'm contemplating replacing it. Its a slowwww leak.
Has some slight wandering but not enough to cause any abnormal tire wear or wear your arm out on the highway.
Has some creaking at the strut on cold days.
Over-all struts are firm and springs are well intact.
No wear wandering.
Did I mention it has an LSD?
Wheels/Brakes-
Fronts good, just replaced and bled whole system this past summer.
Rears ok, 50% left.
Euroweaves with good tires. Plenty of life left.
Spare has NEVER been used.
Body:
Its red so it needs buffed often, I detailed back in august and did an awesome job getting it all glossied up. Afterwards I kept wax on it as often I could, alas winter took its toll. There is some hazing here and there, but I have OCD so that could be it also.
Has a few minor dings here and there, nothing bad, no wrinkles
Only one spot of rust- Pass. rear arch - see pic. Nothing too bad IMHO.
Brand new windshield - PPG Glass.
Work I have done to the car:
New Radiator
New Fan Clutch
New Upper coolant hose
New Thermostat
New Front Brakes - Rears are probably about 50% remaining
Upgraded to 15" Euroweaves, tires have PLENTY of tread for years of driving.
Z3 Shift Rod 'Upgrade'
K&N Drop-In Panel Air Filter
Parts that will be included with the car:
H&R Sport Springs
Front upper strut-bar
Original BMW Bra, if you feel like being retro-sweet.
Original BMW Car Cover.
A partially-full tank of gas.
And Finally: Drumroll...
