This day in age, you just need to avoid ultra-high-mileage, corroded, and accident-damaged E30's. This car could very well be worth $6k even with the bumpers that most people here dislike.

To the OP:
In the "modded" world of cars, fresh paint and aftermarket (especially fiberglass) body panels usually denotes accident history, or detrimental bodywork.

Also, the fact that you: *in their entirety*
1: Have a picture of a half-finished project
2: Are asking a huge dollar amount (in relativety to the worth of an E30 318is)
3: Are a new member on the forum
4: Posted very basic, wikipedia ctrl-v'd style and valued information about the car.
5: R3Vlimited, E30tech, and S14 forums are among THE premier knowledge bases of BMW E30s. We KNOW about the "car". Tell us straight about YOUR "car", or don't post at all.

1: At what stage is the car currently, and why don't you have a **CURRENT** photo?
2: Why was the car repainted, and where are the original panels?
3: Has the car been in any serious or minor accidents?
4: Can you provide pictures from before the bodywork?
5: How long have you owned the car?
6: What have you done to the car, repair-wise?
7: What have you done to the car, maintenance-wise?
8: Do you have any records? Which and how many?
9: What is the color of the interior, and what is the condition?
