Best way to clean OEM rims on my E30?

I’m having a hell of a time keeping the wheels clean on my ’89 e30 cabrio. The OEM rims don’t make it easy, with all the nooks and crannies — anyone have recommendations on the best brushes/tools, best cleaning product, best process?

    Thanks

the brake pads you use have a lot to do with it. you can wax the wheels to help. i've heard of folk spraying them with an anti-stick compound like pam to combat it, though i'm not sure i'd want to try it.

My best advice would be to not post your questions on wheel maintenance in the parts for sale sub forum.

also, try almost any detailing page on youtube.

The best way to keep wheels clean is to ceramic-coat them. Once coated, cleaning them is a breeze. It's a different ceramic formulation than used for the body paint, but similar. More expensive than waxing, but lasts much longer. You can also use Hawk ceramic street pads instead of organic factory and aftermarket pads, a lot less dusty, and also easier to clean.
