I assume you need clarifying on what an i lip really is and what it looks like?

BMW made two OEM lips for the E30s, an i lip and an iS lip. They both are plastic pieces that clip underneath the front valence. The i lip was the thinner, smaller piece of the two, whereas the iS lip had a different shape and looked a bit more aggressive.

You can see the obvious differences between the two.
