                              by limiting the amount of colder than cold air entering the engine bay you are able to retain some heat..

                              I don't know exactly what happens to the E30 in extreme winter temps but speaking firsthand with E46's the crankcase vent valve freezes solid and causes a BIG mess..

                              I just had my 2002 330Ci engine vapor lock with oil. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if the BMW fix works without modification. I was told that my PCV valve froze and caused oil to enter my intake and flood my engine. I had only driven 1/4 mile from home to a gas...
