doesn't matter. that is not a 318 cluster as someone mentioned above. it has a 160 mph speedo, 8 grand tach, and oil temp. the only other e30's that came with 160 speedometers were from alpina (and maybe hartage). no other e30 came with an 8,000 rpm tach or the oil temp.

also, the tachometer will not read exactly right with a standard 6 cylinder coding plug. it would require the plug from an s38.

This is not an e30 m3 cluster. Its even rarer. Its a cluster from the e30 320is portugal/italy only car. They got the same cluster as the M3, but without red needles or the M badge.
Great price for a rare part.

well, maybe but i don't think so. the speedo is in miles per hour with km on the inside. that would be indicative of a uk or us vehicle. also the fuel gauge is in fractions instead of liters. these indicate it was for a u.s. market. i don't think that one came with oil temp either. perhaps since that part has a red needle it was put in later. the seller says that he has the M bezel to go with the sale. it could be that the needles were changed at some point. they come off pretty easily. anyway, i don't really care that much about its authenticity. i want the 160 speedo, 8 grand tach and oil temp to go in my s52 swap. since i have a euro cluster laying around, i might switch out the gas gauge for the one with liters.

It does, I purchased one last year with a 468 codic plug in it. Seller told me it was a M3 set but read 300 rpm lower. Purchased a new M3 codic for 29 bucks and it worked just fine.
