        it was an early 318i i think, mileage about 110000 km

          Wow, check out the angles of the teeth on the rack gear. Looks like a variable ratio...?

                    Are ther any seals or dust barriers on this thing? (any wear parts)

                    also what is the LTL of a stock PS setup for the US?

                    this would really clean up an engine bay

                      Stock P/S US setup is 4.0 LTL. This variable ratio will make it slower off center (for easier steering) and quicken up towards the ends. I think.

                      I'm not sure of the overall travel is the same though...
