    Hi guys,

    I have 2 trannies I need gone. One is a pre-'87 that I mistakenly bought and found out the hard way it wouldn't fit. Prev owner claimed 90k on it, has new linkages, includes shifter. goes into every gear. 260.0.1270.90 looking for less than i paid - $180

    I also have the clutch plate from the same car... I can take a pic of it if need be. $20+ shipping

    brand new guibo never installed - $30

    Lastly, I have a post-'87 G260 out of my '89 325is. Bearings are noisy, but never gave me any drivability issues. I think it's safe to say it was never driven hard, and I just changed the oil in an effort to make the chatter/whine go away. It definitely doesn't sound pretty, but it hasn't ground or popped out of gear so long as i've had it, and it pulls at all revs. gears/synchros are solid. vid of noise below....$80

              Can a sheet metal shift carrier be installed on a car that has an aluminum one?

                          No but you can use an aluminum one in a sheetmetal car, I believe.

                              vid of the tranny from my is? i just swapped to out today, but i think i may have a video on my phone still. t/o bearing was bad, and the pressure plate was loose/rattling. it's still my opinion that the layshaft bearings are bad, but i'm no doctor haha.

                                      There are 3 different e30 g260's. Very early, with only the sheet metal console mounting points (like the one in the first pic, 2 holes drilled and threaded). Then there is the middle years, where both the aluminum carrier mounting ears and the drilled and threaded sheet metal console pointing points. Then there is later years, with the mounting ears for the aluminum carrier, and holes drilled for the sheet metal console, but not threaded.

                                          well i have both, but only the linkages for the earlier one as shown. however, i can get a hold of the shift linkages for pennies if anyone wants. please get these off my hands!!!
