    E30 Racing Dynamics Headers

    SOLD!

These are THE REAL DEAL! Genuine Racing Dynamics equal length tubing headers made to fit the E30 M20 engine. They were on my 1989 325is, but have been removed, since I am now racing in Spec E30. The connecting pipes are included, but they are cheap and not mandrel bent. Price is $800 plus shipping. You can PM me, call me at 3wun7 ate33 6ate56, or email me at e30driverATsbcglobalDOTnet.

    Thanks,

These are some sexy fuckin headers. Im still kicking myself for selling them. They sounded SOOOO much better than any header you could buy for the M20.

            Here are some installed pics.

Well guys, you twisted my arm. I'll throw in the Racing Dynamics trunk badge as shown below. It's not as shiny as it used to be, and it will need new adhesive. But it is cool.

                      Thanks,
                      Carl

School me please, whats the benefit of running these particular headers? Does the equal-length tubing produce more power? It's just the efficiency of design, right? I would surmise the equal-length tubing is what produces a better tone compared to other headers?

well.. no. they aren't truely equal length. I measured - they're within about 6" (24-30") of each other. But it turns out equal length isn't as important as overall system length, the diameter of the pipes, and finally the design of the collectors and final merge, which are pretty important. from 6" to 1" difference, you won't notice an improvement (people who've actually built & tuned headers will tell you the same thing).

Packaging becomes a serious problem when you try to build truely equal length headers, with no real benefit, and probably drawbacks as you have to introduce extra bends and welds to make it fit. And having some difference may broaden the powerband out a bit. Chasing that 1" difference is not worth it.

the benefit comes from their tuned length, diameter, and decent collectors (pyramid in the middle - no dead spot like ebay headers) as well as overall build quality which is way over anything from China.

The collectors could be improved on (true merges), but to get headers of this build quality with merges like that would cost $2k. And they make them, they're called BTB headers from the UK. ;)

Good Info. Not sure if I missed it Nando are you running Rd headers on the iX? Wondering if they would fit. BTW those BTB headers are sick. Good luck with the sale.
