wow my inbox got lit up tonight!!
I am going to pull pretty much everything out. Motor/harness/ecu/accessories/radiator etc will go with it. I will probably keep the trans.....possibly the starter and flywheel/clutch too. I need to research a fair value for this that both myself and the buyer will be comfortable with. Not sure what strokers are worth, every gasket/bearing/rod/seal/bolt is brand new with freshly machined parts. The engine has 602 miles on it as of today!! 1 trip to Vintage at the Vineyard and a few joyrides here and there around town on nice days.
I had hoped to have the replacement engine in and running by now but that is a slow process <sigh>, I am working on it though!!! If all goes well, this will be ready to come out after Korman BMW open house in March.
It has the M52 crank cut, polished and balanced, eta rods, standard 325i piston with the skirts machined off. Head was rebuilt/refurbished as well as the block. All new main and rod bearings, piston rings, seals, gaskets, bolts etc (all from Blunttech). Prefer to sell as a package including all accessories, 731 ecu with BMP chip, 19# injectors, harness and m30 AFM.
I built up a similar motor last winter and sold it while still in my car.....this was the replacement, hence the low miles. Shipping was a hair over $300 using Forward Air.
Thanks for all the interest! I'd consider a zf trans or new m42 radiator in partial trade.

Hi, im Gerald Reyes from san jose, California. i have a m20 "e" engine( not the super eta) and i want to buil it into a stroker. Ive talked to some people and they told me that i need the "i" head, manifold, ecu, harness, and radiator. I was wondering if you guys could maybe set up a list of things that you guys know that i need so i can start my project this spring of 2011.
thank you very much, Gerald.Comment

I'm estimating $400 out of pocket was spent on machining. I have a friend that owns a machine shop so i get good deals on stuff and can even do my own stuff if he's not busy. I'm thinking somewhere around $1600 for EVERYTHING I listed.......engine with accessories, oil cooler and lines, harness, 731 with BMP chip, injectors, M30 AFM, sensors, wires and whatever else is there engine related...and any spare M20 parts I may have. Just need to hook up your starter, battery and fuel lines. Not looking to split it up at the moment.
Motor is still in the car. I will need to keep the flywheel/clutch and starter unless anyone has some lightweight stuff laying around that will work for an S50 swap.'87 325ic, powered by S50.Comment
